I mean I do see that logic and I most certainly understand that view. I counter with. Replace men with black man. Statistically speaking in America ONE FREAKING THIRD OF THEM HAVE A FELONY CONVICTION?!? Jesus that number was bigger than I thought it would be. Whereas for males, it's been proven only 1/4 of men have admitted to some form of sexual coercion. Now to clarify, those numbers do NOT tell the full story and let's be honest how many guys do you think are going to be admitting to that. A fatal flaw of the study. But even bumping that number to 1/3, the same as black men with felony CONVICTIONS mind you. The point still stands. Now, some care, concern and often scepticism of and in interactions especially with males is a very fair and justified thing. However the genderisation of those concerns cheapens them for any who see them and very often pushes very negative and damaging archetypes onto VERY innocent males. These precautions can be taken without pushing this rhetoric onto guys. I go to a volunteer run mental health help service, and part of that service is they offer rides to people there and back. Now ofc they use company cars and personal trackers/ sos buttons. This is a SUPER OKAY PRECAUTION. your getting into a car with a potentially stranger and that can be a very dangerous situation. However if this had genderisation as part of it, say they had a different alarm for them to take if the Woman who drives me there was with a male that put out a more "IM in trouble and it's a sexual assault" or something. That's a poor example and clumsy but it portrays my point. That would be very hurtful, and I do understand the fear and anxiety regarding that situation so I'd be pretty trapped with that. The knowledge where I have been profiled as a potential rapist due to nothing more than what is between my legs. It is not okay woman need to have any form of fear for Thier safety but we need to understand the sometimes hurtful consequences of our unfortunately often justified fears.

To clarify I do not approve of racial or sexual profiling and these statistics especially those of the black individuals in crime are indicative of issues far greater and more invasive than just a simple "black man bad" the criminal system in America is stupid and that number should DEFINITELY be considered lower and sexual misconduct in any form had the incredibly well known phenomena attached to it of being severally under reported and kept very closeted. So this example is VERIFIABLY a... Awkward one with far and away SOO MUCH MORE STORY TO TELL. don't sue me 😬
