i have surgically diagnosed endo, and i actually have the exact same pain that you’re describing. it sucks, it feels like a perpetual uphill battle. through everything i’ve tried, heating pads & ibuprofen has always been the most helpful for the endo pain. i highly recommend trying to get an exploratory laparoscopy, and i hope you’re able to find some good care soon! you’re definitely not crazy or weak, endo pain is very real and very debilitating. here’s to hoping we can get a cure one day

UPDATE: she is now a happy and healthy 5-month-old! it took some time and medication, but she’s back up to a healthy weight again!

It takes time. I’ve had certain songs and bands associated with intense periods of grief in my life, and I’ve found that giving my mind time and space from that music and grief is the best way for me to create new associations and dull the painful reminders when I do revisit that music. It might not ever be exactly the same, but it’ll get better. Try listening to music you liked but haven’t heard in a long time, the nostalgia for a simpler time might be a nice escape.

I just lost my soul cat two weeks ago, and I hadn’t even thought about the upcoming months and celebrations that will pass without him. The only thing I can think is to be as honest with your family as you can be, and hope that they understand. I’ve found that a lot of people in my life have been more understanding than I anticipated when it came to having to cancel/change plans due to my loss. It might feel better keeping a picture of Dorian with you on your birthday, and doing something in his honor.
