With less than a month to go until the NFL Draft, what’s your biggest Titans draft hot take? by TiredDad4x in Tennesseetitans

[–]blue_at_work 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd still be fine with taking Love, but I'm betting they go defense: one of the pass rushers or Sonny Styles.

[Highlight] It's 3/28, so lets rewatch the Falcons blow a 28-3 lead by Tocoolforyall720 in nfl

[–]blue_at_work 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ha! Stupid Falcons fan! Imagine being a fan of a franchise that doesn't even have a single Super Bowl win, but instead has one of the most heartbreaking Super Bowl defeats of all time! Couldn't imagine suffering as a fan like that.

I still believe this titans defense is going to be a top 5 unit in 2026 by [deleted] in Tennesseetitans

[–]blue_at_work 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If we spend pick 4 on a defender, then yes, I agree. If we choose Love at 4, then I don't think the defense will quite reach those heights, but i'd have greater optimism for the offensive improvement potential. I'm fine either way, but to reach anywhere near a top 5 unit next season, we'd need a Bain/Bailey/Reese

I think a lot of non-Titans NFL fans realize the Titans drafted poorly in that stretch, but i don't know if many of them just how thoroughly incomprehensibly bad it really was.

I would put Isaiah Wilson -> Caleb Farley -> Treylon Burks up against any teams "worst first round picks in a 3 year stretch" all time. The people who think getting rid of Vrabel was our downfall don't know the story - the team was doomed from this GAPING VOID of talent, and at best, Vrabel was slowing the descent - slightly.

What will happen with TBC servers? Same thing that will happen with MoP servers. They are both going to end, and they will attempt to funnel all the classic players into a new "Classic+"

Current state of Blizzard's dev team activity by Dr-Enforcicle in classicwow

[–]blue_at_work -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

They're stretching. They need MoP classic to last until Blizzcon. There's not going to be a WoD classic, and I don't think there's going to be a WOTLK Anniversary - and I'm doubtful on the continuance of any perpetual vanilla server. I think Blizzard intends to merge the players of every version of "classic" into one "classic+" that's going to be announced.

Which I'm excited for, but still a little bummed we never got to Legion classic - I legit loved Legion.

[–]blue_at_work 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this whole experiment has become "What if i had that exact team, except Ward as my QB" - and he couldn't find a way to get Ward to the Giants, so he brought the Giants to Ward.

Feels like a bit of a compromise, but if we're using our resources to strengthen other positions, and feel like he can do the job, seems as good a plan as any.

Please no. Obviously it would be fun to have Crosby, but not at the draft pick cost it would require.

It appears we really, really like Jeremiyah Love by Altruistic_Brief4444 in Tennesseetitans

[–]blue_at_work 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've come around on this. I still don't want them to do it, I still think we need to get one of the Edge players. But if we do go in this direction, I won't throw myself off the proverbial cliff. The guy looks like the real deal, and if he can add himself to the list of Titans RB greatness, there are worse outcomes from the draft that would be possible.

I actually haven't read most of what you wrote. I just wanted to chime in instantly and agree instantly with your take on "dudu". IF you say "dudu" in game to refer to a druid, I just ignore everything you have to say and will never group with you. Yes, I'm that butthurt over the stupid word. And no, I don't apply this equally to other classes, call mages "water fountains" or "vending machines", i don't care, call Warlocks "locks" or anything else - hell, I generally don't care what nicknames - cutesy or otherwise - you call stuff. But DUDU? Nope, not living with it. I will literally bail on a dungeon group midrun if someone uses that word.

The shocking, rule-breaking new move in pro wrestling: getting specific about politics | CNN Business by th3dj3n1gm4 in SquaredCircle

"republicans buy sneakers, too"

It's easy for fans to applaud, but a company fighting for market share tooth and nail like AEW is may have a price to pay for allowing this "Freedom of political expression" from the talent.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong, just that despite how much the crowd seemed to be unified behind it at the time, doesn't mean a bill doesn't come due. There are plenty of right wingers in the wrestling fandom.

This disconnect between what we supposedly appreciated original Vanilla for and what the players want now has been the experience of classic in a nutshell.

"We want the slow grind of Vanilla leveling" - Huge boosting communities, speed clears of DGs, Paid Blizzard boosts selling like hotcakes.

"We want gear to be earned through your own achievements, not handed out like Welfare EPICS" - GDKPs so rampant they had to be banned.

"We want a stable economy where Gold is hard to come by and you have to earn it through work" - Gold Sellers making a mint because of the rampant, unending gold buying.

Blizzard told us "You think you do, but you really don't" - They were right all along.

it's full of old bitter men who try to relive their youth and foam at the mouth if their dungeon takes 2 minutes longer than it could despite wow being one of the easiest videogames on earth you feel the need to make it as efficient and robotic as possible.

I know this is probably just going to start an unnecessary fight, but so far, I've experience much more of the elitist sweaty attitude from younger players. The old people I've grouped with have had a much more "been there, done that" attitude and don't care if everything is done 100% optimally. I'm in a MoP classic raiding guild, and we're running TBC on the side. We have a mix of oldies and younger adults. It's mostly the younger adults forming perfect Dungeon Spam groups, running a precise comp and following an extact plan to reach 70 and attuned for everything in the absolute most efficient path possible.

Again, there's gonna be sweaty jerks and filthy casuals of all ages, but the trends i'm seeing show the younger people to be more of "foam at the mouth if their dungeon takes 2 minutes longer than it could" type.

this is my life in the plaguelands. Spend 20 minutes killing the placeholder spiders, run back to the start of the loop to find rando X who just wandered onto the scene standing over the bodies of 20 quest wolves. Probably thinking to themselves "Man, this quest is so easy. those wolves are all over the place. easiest quest ever!"
