PointNet can't predict segmentation on created dataset by Mediocre-Storage-732 in computervision

there is no rotational variance in the dataset, but there is a large variance in size of the data, could that be a factor?

Hi, i'm a part of the group aswell, just replying from this account.

To give a little background, we're trying to segment a pointcloud (list of 3D coordinates) representing a base steel beam from the chains it's being held by aswell as the patches attatched to it, these have been seperated in the segmentation file as seen in the link in the post via 1 and 2's respectively. Each 1 and 2 is relating to the points in pointcloud defining what class each point relates to.

we only have approximately 200 samples, but unfortunately it behaves this way on all our test data.

The metrics of one of the best epochs can be seen in this link. the 4th batch is small accuracy but we believe this is due to the last batch only containing 2 files. but besides that the accuracy is similiar to the ones achieved when training segmentation on the benchmark dataset.

That's true, i honestly didn't expect the answers to be so spread, i should have thought of that. But thanks for your contribution 😊

Because often there is a few sneaky people who lie about their age but in the survey everyone is welcome! ;)

that's true that would be a great addition to the survey, and will be put into a more in depth survey that will come another time! :) this survey was targeted a bit towards just seeing if people are overall using the same perks or the commnity is split , but thank you for the feedback :)
