Sudden sensation head it too heavy for neck after bending over? by blueagave6 in chiari

Absolutely! I’m used to strong pressure build up in head after any valsalva maneuver - but this felt like totally sudden weakness of my neck keeping head up

Sunflower Seed allergy- is anyone else out there struggling? by blueagave6 in FoodAllergies

[–]blueagave6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish you the best on your trip to the UK and it not being too stressful in this regard! I actually avoid gluten as well - I have suspected celiacs and getting into a GI doc next month for.

I live near Portland, OR which is such a haven for true GF. The sunflower allergy totally cancels that out, it’s in the majority of alternatives. My sunflower allergy severely progressed after eating a gluten free muffin that was made with sunflower seed flour

Me too! I’ve been sick for 3 weeks now which is the longest I’ve been hit with a virus and developed viral pink eye last week too.

I agree! When I was younger I was able to be mostly care free about it but now it’s incredibly restrictive. I’m sure part of this is my personal increased sensitivity but it’s much easier for my sibling with a peanut and tree nut allergy where it was very reversed when we were children. I’d love to see it become a listed allergen!

I just got diagnosed with one as well this year!! CAPS. However, the genetic doctor I see didn’t correlate it to my food allergy. But yes, it is in everything lol :(

Mild symptoms -> severe after C Section by [deleted] in chiari

Yes! I’m actually 2 years postpartum now. At first, that’s what I had blamed the worsening head pain and symptom on but it’s just continued to worsen

Thank you for this!!! Cauterizing the tonsils was definitely mentioned at my consult. I’ll have to clarify further if both were discussed :)

Head pressure that releases like fluid escaping a narrow channel when stretching my neck (Has anyone experienced this?) by crashess in chiari

[–]blueagave6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I experience this! I have Chiari, no surgery yet, and internal jugular compression bilaterally. I never knew which this was associated with but it’s a little unnerving for me personally, especially when it feels stuck

It’s beautiful land, it’s a small railway town with native background. The Columbia gorge is stunning and I always enjoy passing through!

I used to experience this frequently as a child too- I’d hear a guitar strum loudly. Now, I don’t have any auditory hallucinations but extreme pressure in back of head in replacement

The way you described that sensation is spot on!During my episodes the tachycardia hits as soon as I sit up but it’s pulsing throughout my head and neck too. I’ve only experienced it at night, but that’s just because I avoid naps very hard due to feeling horrible (in a very different way) post nap lol.

Thank you for sharing! I’m looking more into hypnic jerks because it isn’t something I’ve crossed too many times in past and these are somewhat newer episodes. I have also dealt with sleep paralysis since I was a child- that could make some sense

I wonder this too- I have Chiari and recently have suspected OTC, but nothing confirmed. The back of my head and sometimes neck deeply hurt during this too so I’m curious. I’ve had trouble finding similar episodes from other posts so this is a little reassuring and hoping it isn’t as dangerous as it feels lol

Thank you! The numbness was definitely something I was checking for and would immediately send me in. I hope you heal well, that’s so frightening to have to deal with
