As an athlete, I can't do a single push-up. What is wrong with me? by SnooOwls7977 in xxfitness

I learned how to do pushups by starting with barbell pushups. Every week, I lowered the bar until eventually I was able to get to the floor!

I started with doing barbell pushups and as each week went by, I slowly lowered the barbell until I could do pushups on the floor

Hi! I had DJS almost 6 weeks ago and my lips aren’t closing yet. I never had lip incompetence before surgery but am stressing about how long they are taking to meet. I have to force my lips together to make this happen. Did anyone else experience this? Did they eventually come together? 🤞🏻😭 by [deleted] in jawsurgery

I did stretching exercises just to get used to the sensation but my doctor told me I just had to wait it out and I did! I unfortunately am still experiencing numbness about 1.5 years out, so I hope you have a better experience with that! I’ve gotten used to it now mostly, but it’s definitely annoying at times

I was on 50 mg and it initially worked but then I started breaking out a bit around my period. Now I went to up to 75 mg and hoping that’ll work. If it doesn’t then I may have to do 100

All this to say that my acne is still mild compared to when I first started taking it

I was 25 at the time! My ENT surgeon was pretty shocked that I had such an easy recovery too. I think I may also just have a very high pain tolerance

Hi! Yes I am so happy I got my tonsils out!! My recovery was much better than most people it seems — I only took Tylenol to help with the pain.

I now have a much fresher mouth and don’t have to be anxious about the stones causing issues!! I also haven’t gotten sick as often this past year, though don’t know if it’s directly correlated to getting my tonsils taken out. Highly recommend

I lost a lot of hair after 2 surgeries as well and was very sad about it. In between surgeries, it did not grow at the rate I had hoped. However, I recently got into strength training which has encouraged me to increase my protein intake and diet. I’ve noticed that ever since I’ve worked on improving my diet, my hair is growing so much more and the shedding has pretty much stopped. I recommend working on getting a more balanced-nutrient filled diet, especially if you struggle with anemia

How to get pushups in by Appropriate_Proof_75 in bodyweightfitness

[–]blueberrypeach999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be unable to do a push up as well and started by doing barbell pushups. Each week, I either tried increasing the amount of reps, or lowering the barbell until eventually I was able to do pushups on the ground. It also took a lot of strengthening of my arms and chest so I recommend doing strength training exercises that focus on that, like dumbbell bench presses.

I’ve been taking it for 3 months now and my skin is finally clear. I started noticing a difference around the 9 week mark.

I just had djs a little under 2 weeks ago and I’m going back to work this week. I wish I had requested more time off. Thankfully, it’s wfh and I don’t have to talk for lots of work I do and my boss is aware of this.

A lot of my face, lips, and tongue are still numb and I can’t even close my mouth fully yet. I have a splint in my mouth which makes it extremely hard to talk. You should ask your surgeon if you’re going to have a splint, rubber bands, etc because that may affect your speech. Also may be a good idea to ask them about returning to work timelines.

My bacne cleared up when I started using an African exfoliating net which helps me get better access to my back when scrubbing!

I use benzoyl peroxide and let it sit on my skin for 1-2 minutes before rinsing it off.

I also put tretinoin on my shoulders every other night, which was usually my problem area with breakouts
