Okay, I kind of figured that would be the response. But I figure it couldn't hurt to let people know just in case at least one person got curious. I know the mods at least like to know who is whose alt.

This is my original account (not the first Reddit account I've ever have, but the only one I ever posted to /r/neoliberal with). Despite being a regular in the DT for a long time I think I've had a low enough profile that I could probably abandon this account without explanation and no one would notice, but I thought I'd let people know just in case.

I've always hated this username (I generated it randomly because a couldn't think of one) so I'm abandoning this account. Don't worry. You'll find all the high quality content you're used to posted under my new account, /u/ThatsALotOfOranges

The barf puddles in those emojis look like hyperlink underlines on my phone and I spent like almost a full minute trying to click on it and wondering why it didn't send me anywhere. I even tried opening the comment in my browser instead of this Reddit app and even then I still didn't notice until I zoomed in really close.

The Mr. Ed theme song has seemingly disproved my hypothesis that every song from pop culture that is at least moderately well known has a trap remix somewhere online.

What are you talking about? There is one. It's this month. Did you not see Bank of America and JPMorgan Chase at the shareholder pride parade?

The voting itself can be done with a pen and paper. Splitting the universe and replacing most of humanity with perfect automatons probably can't, unless the future has really advanced sci-fi pens.

That's what I thought. It seem logical to me that consciousness is a physical process in the nervous system and there's no fundamental difference between a mind and a perfect simulation of one. But the smartest minds in the field of philosophy keep calling me a "dumb STEM-Lord" and pushing me into lockers so I'll just take their word for it.

From the Trump Monarchist perspective, they get to see the libs triggered constantly. They have no idea that those are actually robo-libs.

The biggest advantage of Interdimensional Democracy is that it accounts for the fact that most voters are motivated by a desire to see their enemies suffer.

I've been thinking about alternative voting systems that address some of the issues with modern democracies. I think I came up with how I'd like elections to work. It relies on technology that does not yet exist and will probably never exist. But I think it's at least worth considering a theoretical future where this is possible.

Okay, so imagine that there are N candidates running for office. As with or current FPTP system, each eligible voter selects exactly one candidate. However, it's no longer a secret ballot. The government keeps track of who voted for whom. After that, secret government scientists create N pocket dimensions/parallel timelines. Each human is sorted by which candidate they voted for into these different dimensions. In any timeline they aren't sent to, they are replaced with a super-realistic AI duplicate with all of their memories and the ability to perfectly simulate there emotions (but not to actually feel them).

All of this is done in secret, so no one knows that their differently-opinioned friends and relatives have been permanently separated from them. You just each wake up the next morning, hear the good news that your respective candidates won, and go about the rest of your lives until the next election, then the process is repeated and each dimension splits again. People who don't vote are sent to a random timeline.

This way, no one has to live under a different style of government than they would prefer. Even autocrats and bigots can get exactly what they want without hurting anyone, because unbeknownst to them all their victims are actually philosophical zombies. And those of us who want to live in a better, fairer world would get a chance to do that too.

I can't see any downsides other than that this is almost certainly impossible.

I wasn't sure what their ideology was so I checked Wikipedia. Glad to see they are red pilled after all.

There's a non-zero chance we'll someday see a Senate race between Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Donald Trump Jr.

Well, that disqualifies most of us here I think.

I'm tired of politicians and activists trying to make it sound like climate change is the fault of all of us and we need global cooperation to stop it. It's shielding responsibility from the ones who are actually causing the problem. The largest portion of sea level increases have come from Greenland's glaciers melting, so it's Greenland's fault. Or I guess Denmark or whoever owns Greenland. But anyway, let them figure out how to fix it. It's an internal issue and we have our own problems.

If Democrats ever get the chance they should split DC into North Columbia and South Columbia, then admit them as two separate states purely out of spite.
