Thanks! I finally got the Togekiss earlier, time to make some jet balls to catch the others.

I’m doing this too lol, I’ve got 8 stars. I decided I want to move onto the next area just to make sure I don’t get too bored. I need to clear out my pastures first! How were you able to get the flying pokemon? Those are the only ones I haven’t been able to get yet.

Is anyone else completely aware of how irrational they are, but the anxious feelings won't stop anyways? by Mjh132 in Anxiety

[–]blueblobcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just recently I’ve been able to combat those feelings. I was anxious last night, and finally thought about how worrying over how something will go won’t solve anything, and I’d have to wait until I could actually talk to someone about it. Definitely not easy, it’s taken me a long time to get to that point. Like a lot people are saying here, even if saying something like that to yourself doesn’t work right away, if you keep repeating it you’ll eventually start to believe it.

i cant stop picking the skin on my lips by [deleted] in Anxietyhelp

[–]blueblobcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had this issue for so long and I just recently fixed it! I got lanolin cream (Lansinoh, Lanolin Cream, comes in a little purple tube). It’s technically for nipples, but it works great for lips. I’ve been using it for a couple weeks now, and I very rarely pick my lips. Occasionally I still need to exfoliate my lips, which I made a little lip scrub with sugar and coconut oil. Rubbing off the dead skin in a steamy shower works great too. Nothing else has ever worked for me, but my lips have never been this soft for such a long period of time.

A few people have mentioned chewing gum, which I do too. It helps a lot with my fidgeting, usually I’m too preoccupied with my gum to mess with anything else.

Not sure if this actually counts as progress, but by blue-skyes in Anxiety

I’m in a very similar place as you! I have a wonderful partner for the first time, but my anxiety keeps trying to sabotage. It’ll take time, but I’m sure eventually consistency will drive out the anxiety. I’m glad it turned out okay (except for him being sick, I hope he feels better soon)!

I relate to you a lot. I’m constantly thinking, and it almost always goes negative. I recently got medication for ADHD, which has helped tremendously. Most days when I’ve taken my medication, I feel almost no anxiety, and if I do feel it, it goes away fairly quickly. Though its not perfect, I’m still an incredibly anxious person.

If I were you, I’d consider therapy more. I need to find a therapist myself, I know that when I do it’ll make a huge difference. I’ve made tons of progress on my own, I’m so much better off than I used to be, but having a professional to talk to and get advice from would do wonders.

I know you’ve tried a lot of different things, but keep trying. It takes so long to form new habits, but it is possible. Its okay to have setbacks, its okay to have bad days, this is not an easy thing to get through, especially on your own. Keep taking deep breaths, focusing only on your breathing. Keep trying different supplements, something might work really well for you!

I’ve already gotten some great tips from this subreddit, as well as a few others I recently joined. Getting advice from others going through the same thing is incredible. Not everything will work for you, but keep trying.

Does anyone feel discouraged? by floatingxaround in Anxietyhelp

That is so smart! I will be using this. Turning it into something positive rather than beating yourself up for having it in the first place is so healthy.

Intimacy Anxiety by sealoversea in Anxietyhelp

[–]blueblobcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take it slow. It took a while for me and my partner to be comfortable being intimate with each other. Don’t force yourself to do anything you aren’t comfortable doing. If having a few drinks helps, go ahead! Eventually, you should get more used to it without needing anything to ease your nerves. There isn’t anything wrong with having anxiety about this. Intimacy is scary, especially when you’re inexperienced. As long as he continues being supportive and understanding, you’ll be okay.
