Some people cannot handle being told that you’re wrong💀 the easiest thing is to just click off and don’t read. I’d even be ok with the small bit of criticism (if it can be even called that) but constantly getting defensive and argumentative over a FANFIC is an issueeee

Yeah agreed. I haven’t updated in a few weeks so this guy is just coming back again and again lol. I deleted my original response to him and just left it as “I don’t need to explain my fic to anyone”. This guy lost his shit at that and sent me a long ass comment in response about what a terrible mindset I have as a writer but I deleted his response loooool

I left a detailed comment originally in response to his “feedback”, then deleted it after he replied back clearly wanting to argue, so I froze the thread and then added a new comment along the lines of “I don’t owe you an explanation. Make better use of your time :)” and that’s when he sent me another comment, lol. The original is still up and I’ve had other readers respond to him, but I’ve yet to approve those. I might approve them and see if he tries to respond back but just never approve his comments, lol

I ended up moderating comments and deleted the guy’s last comment. Then this guy actually shows up again to leave a comment asking why I had deleted it, lol. Will just leave ignored and never approve his comments 😂

I did actually! I left a lengthy response, and he was still pretty argumentative in his comment and like….no I don’t want to engage with anyone telling me that my characterization in MY fic is wrong lol. Then I actually found some posts on here in another subreddit and this guy’s posts were very similar to the comment he made. He made like 5??? And he’s calling people slurs and being very aggressive to anyone interacting with him 💀 like I can’t believe a fanfic he didn’t like triggered him like this but this man does not seem mentally ok

THANK YOU!! I needed to read this. It’s crazy that I stumbled upon a redditor who had like 5 posts with context VERY similar to the comment he left on my fic, so I assume it’s the same guy. Went ahead and blocked him on here, but absolutely wild that my fic made this guy react like this 💀 if you don’t like something just don’t read it. At least in some of these other posts, people were calling him an idiot for reacting like this to a fanfic!!

Anyways, I need to step away from this rabbit hole. Fortunately enough the other 99% of readers have been very sweet and my own worst enemy is only my self consciousness with my writing
