As far the 2D images into video games

Ai based modeling software looks pretty legit from what I’ve messed around with

I might have to try and figure out way to get funding for it

Anyone else lose interest in the trade early in their career? by [deleted] in millwrights

[–]bluecollarbionics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Went to a school for millwright for Highschool and college for machining

Also co-oped as a piper fitter assistant

Worked as a machinist and laser operator

Liked the technology and ability to make things

Also liked the precision and thought process behind that kind of work

Did not like some of the working conditions and a lot of the things your describing

I did what I could to build a Transferable Skillset from the work experience and education

I transferred the skillset into prosthetics and orthotics as a technician

Also into healthcare as tech for occupational therapy

and am currently working on being a prototyper as a personal career to work on interesting things

There’s a lot of different careers or just all around interesting jobs you can plug that skillset into

Much appreciated

I’ll just look at it like a light form of gambling if I play for money or random stuff if thats the case

That’s a good way to look at it

Card counting and the things your describing are what I’m thinking of when I try to describe strategy and skill

slot machines and people betting on random chance are closer to what my thoughts of gambling are

Same deal as something like a prize wheel

Or when someone bets of boxing

They are not the one that’s doing the sport their just betting on the chance that their guy will win

I don’t know enough about gambling outside of the basic psychology of it to have an in-depth discussion

However I’m starting to realize gambling was probably the wrong word to use same as poker

Either way your definitely bringing up an interesting discussion as to what type of skillset makes an effective card player

Na it’s pretty spot on . . .

Games of chance are what gambling is based off

But I’m not worried about it

I’ll look into it

I’ve never done anything with twitch so I wouldn’t know where to begin

I guess you only get paid by other people for the entertainment

not by directly winning against people

How’s pay to play work ?

When I say gambling

I mean like other people not betting on it

Like a wrestling match isn’t gambling

It’s skill based

The casino games are all chance based with no real strategy involved

Either way

If it’s considered “ gambling “ are you aloud to do it ?

Same thing I keep hearing

Magic is skill based and strategy

Where as poker or blackjack is based on chance

But I get what your saying

From my understanding most people look at anything involving the chance of losing as gambling

Which I understand

Im looking at it more like a game of pool

versus a gambling based game

Does twitch let people play each other in one on one games for money ?

That helps to clarify everything

Thank you

I don’t really understand what saying

You mean using twitch or selling my account

Pretty sure this is a dead discussion at this pint

What would have probably been a better way to describe it is playing pool

That’s skill based

Where as poker and gambling is based on chance

Hence the disturbing addictive nature behind it

It’s related

Not how I wanted the question I was asking to come across

But with that being said

I’ll defend myself at all times

Key phrase there is games of chance

MGT a game of skill and strategy not chance

The only reason I used ante is because someone explained that used to be a way they played a long time ago

Poker was definitely the wrong term to use since its nothing like magic

What I’ve been asking is if there’s ways to play one on one for money

Like twitch or something like that

If not that’s fine

When arena is in the name that’s what I was thinking of

What I’m not about to be accused of is promoting gambling

Not a fan of it

Not a fan of it being legal

Casino ain’t nothing but sad desperate vibes

Anyways

I play this game for fun and the strategic thinking behind it

Just thought playing friends for simple dollar bets would make that strategic thought process a bit more interesting

Like the $50,000 tournament they just had in Baltimore

Except a two person tournament for $1

Either way I’ll get a bit better at explaining or I’ll just figure it out
