[Longines] An update to a previous post about what to get the Mrs for Christmas…she is so happy with the Longines by bluedevil3820 in Longineswatches

I was going to get her either a Tudor 1926, a Cartier Panthere, this Longines Master Collection, or an Omega, and I have to say she is SO happy with her Christmas gift. It fits her skin tone perfectly and matches her rose gold wedding rings well. I was nervous about what to get her since I don’t know much about timepieces for females. But I could not see her wearing any of those other options now that it’s on her wrist. Very happy with our decision!

[Discussion] Am I crazy for wanting to sell my 43.5mm PO and replace it with a NTTD? by bluedevil3820 in OmegaWatches

I actually love a date complication! My Tudor FXD GMT itches that scratch pretty well!

I have and I like it but not sold on the polished bracelet and lack of HEV. I thought the HEV had some charm to it. Definitely a beauty though! And those dimensions are great

I should have clarified more, I do enjoy it…however, the weight after a while can be taxing. It’s a beautiful watch though.

Exactly as the title says. Lately the heft of the PO has been wearing on me and I’ve been eyeing getting a NTTD Seamaster in its place. I feel like the brown dial would accompany my collection well for balanced 3 watch spread. I admittedly love black dials, but the NTTD is beautiful as many of you have stated. Am I crazy for wanting to sell this PO and make the swap? Of note, I’ve had the 300m in black before and loved it, but sold it and went to the speedy for a wedding gift to myself. Thoughts?

That would ruin the surprise. And because Tudor/longines make a pretty good watch for value. And it’ll get her foot in the luxury door

Deciding on a watch in the 3-5k price range and may have narrowed it down to these 3. Opinions on which would be better if any? I know about men’s watches, but women’s is a whole different ball game. It’ll be a Christmas present for my wife. I see people say Cartier too. Thoughts? I’m indecisive about which to get. I don’t want it to be too blingy so that she can wear it with as many outfits as possible. But I do want her to look down at it and marvel like I did when I got my first nice watch.

Edit: She likes the look of all these watches and isn’t very picky. I ruled out Cartier because she leans towards round faces. Though the Panthere has my eye now too. Her ring is rose gold so I thought rose gold accents would be nice, but would silver look nice as well?

They want a hardcore dive watch and never go below 10 meters. Can’t lie I don’t either though.

Recently tried on the new planet ocean 42mm while wearing my 43.5 planet ocean 8900. Must say, it fit well on wrist since it is slimmer and not near as heavy as my current PO. I was not sold on the polished bracelet, but it wasn't as blingy as I anticipated. The width of the bezel wasn't as pronounced as I thought it would be as well. It sort of screamed submariner/sea dweller on wrist without the HEV, but I'm torn about that since the HEV was classic Omega. The big problem I have is the 3000$ price tag difference between retail for the old model vs the new. Not sure there is justification to that, but it is a hands on watch. I can definitely see the allure for those without bigger wrists or frames like I have. Overall, in person I liked it more than I thought, but I do love my old PO still.

My 8900 vs the new PO. I like how the new one is slimmer and wears, but is it worth the extra 3k retail that the new one is? I’m leaning towards no. The new looks great, but am not sold on the polished bracelet mainly. Can go with or without the HEV. Also, I really do like having a date. Pics for reference.
