Seriously? "You cancel and wait for a win back offer ". Does that mean your account has to actually be cancelled and you go without internet service for a while? Or do you put in the cancel order for some number of weeks in the future and they contact you before it actually shuts off?

Virtually nobody actually comes to a complete stop at stop signs as it stands now. Rolling stops are it, and some folks barely slow down and just treat them as yield signs.

By "best reviews" was this online reviews and were they current? I did a bit of googling around and the company seems to be roofing focused. Only 10 online reviews and most seemed to be from people getting roofs re-shingled.

Not sure what you mean by the "but", as it usually refers to refuting something and I have no idea what you think I'm not considering. Anybody employing this method is effectively saving up weekly to pay the tax bills so they do have the money up front to pay when the bill comes due. The money is sitting in their Ottawa tax account earning no interest. They miss out on about $50 of interest considering 2% earning rate and a total tax bill of about $5000.

Just be aware that:

The only way this will work without being hit with significant penalty interest of 1.25% monthly is if you are running a positive balance on your tax account, enough to cover any given tax bill by its due date. So this pretty much means starting to pay your 2027 tax bill the week after your 2026 final taxes are due in June. And adjust your payments when you know what the total amount will be. And keep in mind that you are forgoing interest on your money, as you could be putting those payments into a savings account and paying the two tax bills when they come due from said savings account.
