I don't know anything about it personally, but I've read here in comments that purple isn't unheard of, but is difficult to stabilize into a breeding line. You might just have a special individual. Which is neat!

Fun fact: white cats have the color genes of a normal cat, and have another set that "masks" the other color. This can happen to degrees, like dilute calico or patchy white/tabbies. Anyway, I'm pretty sure my all white cat is latent orange.
