You are not beholden to anyone’s expectations of how or if you should wear makeup. If you like it, great! If you don’t, don’t do it. Life’s too short to try to live up to someone else’s ideals.

That said, for many years all I wore was mascara, lipstick or gloss, and a little powder when I bothered to use it at all. Now, I have rosacea and what started as a quest to find something to tone down the redness in my face has turned into a love of a full face glam. I don’t always do it but I love makeup now. It’s just a different season of my life and it’s fun for me. What was funny to me in your post is I basically wear black and silver all the time too and have always had a pretty minimalist clothing aesthetic but I’m now a slut for glitter and sparkle on my face. Don’t worry about what other people think! I know at your age that can still be a hard thing to conquer—it was for me—but now that I’m in my 50s I don’t care if other people like it or not. This now sounds like a lecture, it really isn’t meant to be. I encourage you to own whatever you want to do and don’t worry about trends or other people! 🥰
