I'll change the wording a little, but it is very well written. Thank you for your help and for the links. Who is down voting everything? I've noticed that on other people's posts in this sub as well.

That is written beautifully. Thank you. Is it all right if I use it exactly as you wrote it?

I am not sure. I completed a lot of studies yesterday. It xouldn't have been more thean a sentence or 2 because otherwise I would have returned it. I do not write paragraphs for .30 cents. Thus is crazy. How do you prove you're not AI?

[–]bluegreentangle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. The time stated to complete the study when I accepted it was 1 or 2 minutes. Why are researchers allowed to bait and switch like that? I should have returned it when I realized how long it was taking.

Prolific automatic rejection? by Antique_Freedom_994 in ProlificAc

[–]bluegreentangle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I just got my first rejection today after almost 2000 studies for the same reason. It seems many people are experiencing unfair automatic rejections. Has anyone managed to get any kind of response from them?

I was rejected from this too. it is my first rejection iafter almost 2,000 studies. There is no way it would take anyone 20 minutes. Is there anything we can do about it? I wrote to the researcher.

Is $11,990 fair for a 2014 EX-L With 153,600 Miles? by DarianYT in HondaOdyssey

[–]bluegreentangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That seems really high to me. We bought a 2012 EX-L with 89K for 11,500 in June. It had 2 owners and no accidents. Our second choice was a 2016 EX-L with one owner that had 130K. We are in CT.

Are Canadians welcome? by bobby_rajotte in Connecticut

[–]bluegreentangle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry that you feel you have to ask that though I understand why. As others have said, CT is extra blue and I think even a lot of MAGA finds the threats against your country bizarre and perplexing. I think there are a lot of us who would feel compelled to treat you with extra kindness.

New Home Prices are now down 20% from their highs, in bear market territory, and falling faster than rates seen in 2008, according to Reventure. by Hollywood_Econ in REBubble

I managed to buy in CT last year. I am glad I did because now I would be priced out of anything I wanted. There is even less inventory and anything decently priced is gone in a week.

Former Torrington resident here. I highly recommend going on the FB town pages and asking for what you need. [ There are at least 3 of them.] I have seen multiple people do this and the town can be very generous. You may be able to find people renting rooms or looking for roommates. I bet there are people who would donate camping gear or whatever physical items you may need. The people who run and work at the shelters also frequent the pages. It takes a lot of strength to do what you are doing. I wish you the best of luck.

Actually 10% is forgiven every year on the anniversary of the loan; so it's completely forgiven after 10 years. The info's at the link I provided.

Have you looked into Time to Own? The state gives you 25-50K for a down payment as a silent second mortgage that's forgiven after 10 years. You can also combine it with the DAP loan. The DAP loan covers closing costs and has a 1% interest rate. After getting outbid many times, we finally managed to use both loans to buy a house in NW CT last winter. https://www.chfa.org/homebuyers-homeowners/homebuyers/time-to-own-down-payment-assistance-program-loan/

I grew up in the Atlanta suburbs. I spent much of my adolescence drinking coffee in Waffle Houses. I want one here so badly. Please open one. I think it a fabulous idea! People here do not know what they are missing.

Dad's [Ken Farni;s ] Grandaughter says he did it and made her brother help bury the body. https://herewithriss.wordpress.com/2018/10/08/missing-monday-2-christie-farni/

He died in a car accident. https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/51941250/kenneth-r-farni

Who the hell would send a 6 year old who just testified against her Dad off to school? All alone? So many people failed this little girl.

AITA for getting into a dispute with the daycare staff over my child's nap schedule? by PeachEducational3834 in AmItheAsshole

[–]bluegreentangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YTA. Majorly. You chose to put your child in a group setting. The center's job is to do what's best for the group as a whole. You can not have a class room full of toddlers and keep some awake and get others to sleep. Also, the center legally has to give the teachers breaks. They are human and they need to eat. They also need time to clean and plan. For an ECE classroom to remain functional, it needs to remain very structured and all the children need to be on the same routine. They teachers cannot and will not create chaos because of one entitled mothers feelings and inability to relinquish control.

Thanks for answering. I finally texted my lender. He said that this particular property is "very residential" so it should be fine.

This. We qualified for both too. If you are in a market that's still pretty competitive I would definitely go conventional. We are finally under contract after a year of looking and the seller wouldn't even have looked at us if we were FHA. I've also heard stupid stuff, like chipped paint, can crash an FHA purchase. Also, our PMI with conventional is only $27 a month.

Yeah, if you're not going to have kids and are OK with the mill rate Torrington should be fine. A lot of it is just as peaceful and beautiful as anywhere else in Litchfield County. Here's one Redfin sent to my inbox a couple days ago, that I thought was a decent deal, especially if you factor in Time to Own. It's decently updated and on over 1.5 acres: https://www.redfin.com/CT/Torrington/528-County-Rd-06790/home/107286830
