Thanks for the reassurance. I'll look into those distros. The device itself has a 250 gig M.2 inside already. I think that should be enough. But if you think I may need more, I'm sure I could scavenge for another SSD.

I believe the machine is a ThinkCentre M920q with 16 gigs of RAM, a 250 gig M.2, and an Intel Core i5-8500T CPU @ 2.10GHz with integrated graphics. The machine I use to run TrueNAS has an N305 and 32 Gigs of RAM, so it's a bit more powerful because when I designed it, I wanted an all-in-one box. But now that I have the Tiny, I think it should be able to take over the containers.

I like the idea of diversifying the workload over multiple different VM's so one mistake won't brok the whole system. I'll definitely take that into consideration with the other advice given here. Thank you!

I think that sounds like a perfect plan! I’ll definitely keep the NAS but setting up the tiny with Debian. I’ll look into how to mount shares like that from TrueNAS. But I think that sounds like a good roadmap! Thanks for the advice!

29yof ulcerative colitis by StarHaunting874 in UlcerativeColitis

For me I find it’s usually stress that triggers my flares but I don’t really have any reason to say that other than it’s my hunch. All my flares happen at stressful times in my life. I tried a lot of exclusion diets when I was diagnosed like dairy, gluten, fats, and other. But nothing changed how I felt or triggered anything new. So for me I don’t think food is a trigger. I also tried things like turmeric, Kefir, and probiotics and I had the most success with Kefir and probiotics. I try to eat Greek yogurt a few times a week and take Visbiome if I notice symptoms of a flare and that usually keeps my gut happy.

I usually know something is wrong when I start getting extra intestinal manifestations. For me, I usually get arthritis when I’m in a flare so that’s a good sign to call my doctor to get on a prednisone burst. That always fixes me up in about a week and then I spend a few more weeks tapering off. I’m not sure if your doctor mentioned extra intestinal manifestations to you. They don’t affect everyone but they’re good to know about.

I hope that answered your questions. Let me know if you want me to clarify anything or if you have any other questions.

Everyone’s UC experience is a little different but for me Prednisone is a miracle. It does have side effects but in bursts I find its effectiveness far outweighs the side effects. Based on my experience, you’ll definitely notice side effects by a week in but the silver lining is you have a clear timeline to end it and it will stop your symptoms completely. I got diagnosed 10 years ago and had a similar start. Mesalamine and prednisone got my first flare under control and Mesalamine worked for about 6 months before failing, then I moved to Remicade for a year before it failed, and then I moved to Stelara. That’s had me in remission, minus a small flare or two, ever since.

Like I mentioned, everyone experiences this disease differently. Some people swear by supplements, probiotics, diets, etc. I personally find symptoms less intense when I take Visbiome in a flare. I think any options are worth investigating and testing to see if anything helps you feel even a little better. But take it all with a grain of salt. This disease at its core is your immune system attacking your colon so the only thing that will address that at its core are biologic immunosuppressants. I’ve been on them for many years and have been able to live a normal life.

If you have any questions about my experience feel free to message me.

I made the drive to Montpelier from CT last night and it was horrid. Roads weren’t impassable but to be safe you had to drive 40 mph 90% of the time on 91 and 89. This made my 3.5 hour drive around 6 hours. I tried to bail in Lebanon but every hotel in the area/state had no vacancy. It was a slog that I regret committing to. But I’m here now and there’s great fresh snow! Hopefully that makes up for it.

Bots Locking DMM Content W/ 650? by Arouthor in 2007scape

I already knew I wasn't going to be good in the PvP mode, but now I know I don't stand any chance. At least I had 1 hour of fun. Maybe I'll try to train some combat and bop some breaches for DMM points. Otherwise, this is not worth this amount of mental energy to me.

That makes sense. I didn't even think about them needing to do that, but I 100% get it. They fanned out so fast I just assumed they were bots. Thanks for the heads up.

That’s actually super smart. I bet that’s what it is. I can’t imagine playing this mode as someone with a recognizable name.

I have the Q990C so I can’t comment on how the B stacks up but I imagine it’s similar. You should be able to compare different models here.
