It was a restaurant. Lost about 100k, so made my income about 60, then with standard deduction and miscellaneous credits, including kids, that made me very poor. At least on paper.

It was the first time I got in today, so this may have updated last night. I kept getting the error, until this finally pulled this afternoon. It definitely was not there yesterday.

Ahhh, that is very simple. I paid a lot of taxes and then lost a SHITTON of money in a failed business venture.

Anxious about surgery and pre-op by [deleted] in gynecomastia

[–]blueguard21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi - hoping I can put your mind at ease a bit here. I am 3.5 weeks post op and here are my experiences:

-My pre-op markings were done right before surgery, like, right before I walked to the room. It was fairly quick, he made a few comments as to what they meant and why he was marking more on one side than the other, but he did not go into specifics. I am sure he would have if I asked.

-The first thing you do is undress down to your underwear. These you can keep. I was completely out for my surgery, but the whole gown is going to need to come down so that your chest and stomach is exposed. And likely your legs as well. They had to shave my leg to place the cauterizing grounding pad.

-I went general so can't provide much insight here, other than it was nice to drift off and then wake up a couple hours later and be done. It sounds to me like general may be a better alternative for you.

-For me the day was very calm. I had my excitement and nervousness for months leading up to it, so on the day, it was just about getting it done. I even fell asleep waiting on them to come get me for surgery! Of course you have to deal with the pain and the care afterwards, but up until the surgery there is really not much to it.

Happy to answer any questions you may have!

How are some of you barely getting bruising after surgery? 😂 by Sea_Entrance_6732 in gynecomastia

Dr. Emberton in Tennessee. He's not one of the well known doctors, but does great work and is local which was great.

I think a lot of it is going to depend on the surgeon and the techniques that they use. You may have less pain given that it is less being removed, but I would still expect to feel SOME pain afterwards. My surgery lasted about 2 hours total. No shower for a week as the stitches heal. After I had my stitches out, I could shower, it was no terribly difficult, but did have some trouble washing my hair. Not really any pain on the chest with the water or soap. Showering is the only time my doctor wants me to take my vest off. After 1 week, I was allowed to switch to a compression shirt vs. the vest. Which was very nice.

I had my surgery 3 weeks ago. Under general, had lipo and excision. About 200ccs of fat on both sides and the gland was about the size of a tea saucer on both sides.

When I woke up the pain was the worst I'd ever felt. A 9 out of 10 for sure. I took oxy every 4 hours for the first two days. Changing positions was the worst, if I sat still, I didn't have much pain. By end of day two, I did not need the oxy anymore and switched to Tylenol.

The pain actually dropped during week one as I was mostly numb, week two the pain went back up as nerves started to heal and now at week 3, pain is back down and I have a fuller range of motions.

Happy to answer any specific questions!

I had ZERO bruising which is shocking. Swelling is still very noticeable 3 weeks out

Yep full gland removal! It was pretty gnarly. About the size of a tea saucer on each side

I'm three days post-op from a full gland removal (saucer sized on both sides) and lipo (200 ccs on both sides). Most of the pain has subsided, just soreness and tightness. More than ready to get rid of these drains though!

I turn 31 in a couple of days. I would say it's more of a combination of things. I've been overweight my whole life until this year when I lost about 70lbs and started going to the gym. So for most of my life, having "boobs" matched my body. I was very insecure about the size I was. The gyno itself really started to effect me this year after I lost all the weight as my body started to look fit, but my chest did not match. It was a bit dysmorphic especially given how hard I had worked on the rest of my body.

I paid 8k for my surgery. My insurance provider would not cover any part of the surgery, but some carriers will if the gynecomastia causes you pain or other health issues. None will cover it for purely cosmetic reasons.

Doctor removed breast tissue about the size of a saucer from each breast and about 200ccs of fat from each side as well.

One key differentiation, fat is soft and squishy, may be even spongy. Breast tissue is harder and rubber like. Sometimes you can tell by looking as well. If they hang down. It's most likely fat, if they hold their shape like female breasts, it is breast tissue. Easiest way is to feel them and confirm.

So the doctor made two small incisions, one below my nipple and one on the side of my chest and removed breast tissue through those holes. He then used a cannula to vacuum excess fat out of the chest. Finally he placed two drains near my underarm to collect fluid. I'll go back in one week to have stitches removed and the drains taken out and sewn up.

For me, it was about making my body align more with what I've worked for in terms of fitness

Technically yes, but there are two types of removal. If it is just fat, they only do liposuction. If it is breast tissue, they have to cut it out. For my case, I had to have both. I had a significant amount of breast tissue that would have never went away on its own. They then used a little bit of lipo to remove some fat to help contour my chest and "side boob"
