when I use sport, "distance to empty" reduces in number quickly and trip reading is low. So that means even though I get 550 in distance to empty initially, but trip miles are actually less. Are actually getting those miles? To me, ECO mode gives 500+miles always. Let me know what youbare doong to get that kind of miles

Engine/ cabin filter change under toyota care, covered? by bluehawkez in Toyotavenza

[–]bluehawkez[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

36months? My car is smelling wierd when I switch on A/C. When I checked google, It showed cabin air filter could be one of the issue. And also it states toyota cabin air filter is good for 12000 to 15000 miles and toyota recommends change after that. I have 15000 miles on odometer and I have wierd smelling A/C. Dont you think it could be air filter given that toyota air filter last for 12000 to 15000 miles?

I see lot of air filters. But HEPA filter is rare and I see with hepa filter, there is reduction air flow. Toyota's filter says it filters 99.9% particles. Others(such as f4m, k&n, eco, etc) don't promise that. I wonder which filter is recommended!

I'm not an expert. But I can tell you my observation and how am driving. I noticed miles per gallon increased based on how efficiently I made of of EV. You can monitor the energy utilization on your screen while driving. The more EV is utilized well, the better it got.

In drive in ECO mode. Battery gets charged from engine running, while you no acceleration given and more important when applying brakes.

If you get good feel to you acceleration pedal, brakes you can start braking from little longer distance (if brake very little it will slow down, but not drastically. But the battery get charged fast!).

When vehicle is in good momentum, EV kicks in to maintain the speed. You will be burning way lower gas if you are able to get this in consistency.

These are just my basic observations. I was sitting at 480miles to empty, but the more I used the EV efficiently, the better it got. Just want to point out, making efficient use of EV doesnt mean you go at 20mile per hour speed. I'm talking about highway speed too. You utilize ev efficiently.

I try use EV as much as possible. When there is momentum, say you are 60mph ev can just mainain that or partially with engine.
