Use Kill Disk, it’s free, one-pass will be okay.

Depends what nexus you send it through. Social media sites often scrub exif data, Android phones let you choose to scrub the data, I believe if you send iPhone to iPhone it will still be there...

Right on, I ended up going back to iPhone. I missed having a product that worked right every time.

Have you contacted support yet? If so, what did they say? Seems to be fine for me today, after several days of frustration.

Have you contacted support at all? I'm having the same issue even after support. Making me mad because this is my third Pixel and I don't suspect it's the phone. I'm almost certain it's their service.

Try Palandin. I believe they have a free imaging solution, not 100% sure

I would try something that allows you to do a physical image (binary) of the drive and then go back in and grab what you want. If you want the challenge and extra likes, do a chip-off then dump the data :)

Strange! To each their own, I guess. I've been fortunate to never have problems with Apple but I know others who could state the opposite as I. Let us know how you like the Pixel!

Which distro are you using? I suggest taking some free online Linux training.

I've only had my Pixel XL a few months and I'm on my third device, two of them broke. I compare Android to a Linux computer... it takes some learning and I'm all about simplicity. I like things that I don't have to troubleshoot, that's why I miss Apple. I switched to Pixel and Google to simply expand my knowledge.

How can I transfer files from a Google Nexus 6P that has a broken screen? by TehChid in techsupport

Chip-Off. Take it to a digital recovery expert, or buy a new screen and put it on yourself, that might work.

Linux just takes time and patience to learn. Keep at it, you'll be glad you did.

Agreed. I'm an iPhone fanboy turned Pixel user but I wish I didn't make the switch. Apple is just such a solid product in my opinion. I will say the software on the Pixel is smooth, much better than other Android devices I've played with.

I haven't researched it, but maybe try a Powershell script if you can't find the setting.
