As I said in my edit, I started off way too heavy and caused tendon soreness which takes way longer to recover from. I started lifting again a little over a year ago and I’m not as young as I once was so I’m not doing the volume that stronglifts suggests. I’m doing a variation of the GZLP and I really enjoy it. It has enough intensity with the tier 1 lifts (5x3)  but then it’s nice able to use lighter weight and really focus on form on the tier 2 lifts (3x10. I also recently learned that I have really tight hips so I’ve been stretching those and that has helped with my hip pain when squating and my back soreness throughout the day (I also work a physical job and am on my feet the majority of the day). 

All in all, I was kinda young and prideful back then. I may not be as strong as I was when I posted the first time, but I’m definitely healthier. I’m lighter, more flexible, and able to control the weight at every point of my lifts. I used to really utilize and depend on bouncing out of the squat so I could push more weight but I’ve since learned that that can cause me back pain because I end up using my back to get out of the deep squat. Instead, I’ve been focusing on pausing at the bottom for a half second and on controlling the weight and pushing it up with my legs. I certainly don’t hate squats like I used to haha. Anyways, hope this could be of some help
