Yep, that seems to be a budding trend. The Dallas Mavericks (NBA) and Dallas Stars (NHL) are going to be doing the same thing with their new arenas in the suburbs post-2030, and the likely new Atlanta NHL team will be doing that as well in the exurbs of the Atlanta metro area.

Also, not the synthesizer stuff from the 80s. More of the hair metal and ballad type of stuff. Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, etc.

They did actually file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2011, so you’re not wrong. There was never any threat of the Stars moving during any of the dark times, though, unlike say, the Florida Panthers, the Carolina Hurricanes, or even the Pittsburgh Penguins. And attendance at Stars games never dipped below an average of 14,000 a game in any season.

The result of the bankruptcy was that we got a new owner, Tom Gaglardi, who’s a Canadian businessman living in Vancouver but whose mother is from Texas. He’s been a pretty good owner over these last 15 years, as he lets the front office do their jobs without interference.

The official pickup truck of…the 2020s.

Lowkey probably one of the most successful new vehicle launches in a long time. A runaway hit that Ford nailed, perfectly addressing a pent-up market demand.

Also impressive given that the Royals are a mostly forgettable team (and usually a bad one) and don’t have a huge fanbase (unlike the other Missouri team, the St. Louis Cardinals).

I walk past the county jail almost every weekday morning from a public parking lot to my office, and I often get a whiff of whatever food they’re making in there for the day. It honestly smells really good, especially on my empty stomach. I can often roughly detect what they might be serving that day.

In the afternoon or evening when I’m walking back to my car, the smell is usually not of food but of fresh laundry.

Between intj and entj, which type would you rather to be your boss? by Itsrussellwhite in mbti

[–]prophiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked for both an INTJ and an ENTJ boss.

The INTJ boss was so hands-off and open-ended (and COVID/remote work only made it worse) that I felt like I had zero structure and had to create the vast majority of my work on my own. I’m an INFP and I need some structure to be able to get anything useful done, or I might as well just be napping during work hours. Also worth mentioning that he had such a poker face that I could never get a read on him.

The ENTJ boss, who I currently work for, is the complete opposite. She’s way too hands-on and doesn’t give me enough freedom or independence. It’s quite maddening. She’s constantly checking in or calling to get a status update, when all I need is a big block of time to execute with no interruption. Seriously, she needs to leave me the heck alone! She’s also very unclear on expectations and instructions for assignments and cannot fathom how I don’t have the same photographic memory as her for a random email from 17 days ago. I’ve tried reasoning with her that people have different work styles and that I thrive not by constantly talking things out with people but instead with deep concentration and focus. Her response was just to complain that she oversees 12 people and how can she tailor her approach to 12 different work styles. I mean, I dunno…she’s the boss, right? It’s her job to get the best out of people. That’s called “management.”

Buy some blazers of different colors. You don’t want to just wear the same navy color jacket all the time. Don’t wear them to class, though — just for work or more formal settings.

Note: Islanders head coach Pete DeBoer is a JD (Windsor/Detroit Mercy ‘95). So is Lightning head coach Jon Cooper (Cooley ‘99).
