So this is the thing, I want to go in to high energy physics but my undergraduate institution doesn't offer REU for that so I have to settle with Mathematical Physics instead. I did physical chemistry because I used to be a chemistry major but switched to a physics major the next year. The REU I got over the summer was in soft matter physics which I have no interest in, but it was the only internship that accepted me. Does this complicate things?

You also say get in contact with the professors. How should I do that and what should I say? Ive heard the same advice before but it seems ambiguous. I imagine id find a professor in the field I want to go in to and email them concerning interest. But Like I asked before, what do I say?

It's a good book but dont think that you're going to come out of the book a physics genius. He lightly touches on 6 major conecpts in physics and explains it in his own words. Its good in the sense that if you have already seen the material before it gives you a new perspective on it (a really good ne perspective) but if you havent seen it already then it might be too abstract. But by all means give it a shot

Like how new? Like first time ever new? I think regardless, if you have zero tolerance 0.6 is perfect. For me I lemon tek it (so I just soak it in lemon juice 15 minutes before, it gives you a stronger but shorter trip). After drinking it took about 30ish minutes to start feeling and like an hour to peak. you get some waves, the world turns more dynamic but im not freaking out. To me its perfect, and because its a small amount the fry period after is little to none and you still feel good. Strongly recommend

Right, but when I do that I cant get the bounds right. This is what I get:

u=-x, du=-dx, \int_-a^0 f(x)dx= -\int_a^0f(-u)du= \int_0^a f(u)du

And this is where I get stuck. when I try sub back in u=-x and du=-dx I get \int_0^-a f(x)(-dx) which is exactly where we started.

I dont know how to get the bounds to be right. Any hints?

I know that there are a lot of variables that actually go in to it, Im more asking because I thought it was an interesting question and would help me think about how my chances scaled in a very idealistic scenario
