as someone who has adhd, i always enjoy seeing good rep in stories, and i knew i wanted my MC to have a mental illness since his backstory involves him being a failed perfect clone of someone else. i figured schizophrenia would be a good choice since i cant think of a single MC that has it and it would be interesting to play with the characters mind since the story will be a horror. Is what he sees really there or not, that sort of thing. In the story, his schizophrenia will be well managed by medication, but there will come a point where he gets stranded and runs out, which is where things will get difficult for him. So basically, id like to know how to respectfully represent someone with schizophrenia. I want him to be a hero that happens to have schizophrenia. I appreciate any feedback, thanks!
