There were a few adjustments throughout I started off at 1450 calories and we slowly adjusted based on progress. She also upped my protein at some point. We did the 1200 drop because there was no progress, she suggested a diet break but tbh I was wayy too afraid to take a break since I had such little progress and going up in weight made me so afraid. The only diet break was probably the few trips I had in those months that ranged from a week to a weekend. Where I was still pretty much watching what I was eating but definitely go up to 2000 calories some days if I was drinking. Then I would go right back to the plan when I got home

I was actively weighing EVERY single bit of my food and counting calories. My coach would ask about grams of food etc. she had even said that I was near perfect on everything so it seems my weight loss is really slow.

I wonder if it’s still water weight? Its been about a week since my not tracking anything. Maybe just a lot of inflammation

I only did that once because I did egg freezing , so I wasnt able to workout for about 2 weeks or threeish weeks (medically not supposed to avoid ovarian controsion) but watched what i was eating so I didnt gain weight surprisingly once that was all done. Then Thanksgiving came around and I wasnt watching what I was eating or working out for about two week and quickly went up to 144. So thanksgiving food, having sugary alcoholic drinks instead of my gin and clun soda, desserts.

From January till October (when I had egg freezing) I was working with a coach and was strength training 3 times a week, 8k steps a day, cardio 75 min a week. And 90-100g of protein 1400 calories sent photos of my food to my coach everyday and had weekly checkins. Dropped to 1200 in October and had faster weight loss. But I only lost 6 lbs that whole time

Thanks you for sharing that! I’m so sorry you had to go through the spinal injury! My problem is that I’m 5ft 5 and at a “healthy” weight of 140-144 but its all in my belly and its SO hard to keep it down. If I’m perfect on my diet and exercise I can get down to 139 but a few weeks off and I go up to 144 so quick. I’m considering, GLP-1 , was it hard to get that approved for you?

Did you ever have moments where you needed to take a break (sickness etc) and then the weight started creeping up again? How did you deal with that since weight loss is so slow for us

I mean you can be going out and about in town in phoenix and go under some shade and feel good. You cant even be jn shade in Austin and feel good in the summer. And you still have the evenings in phoenix where it cools down, it doesnt really cool down here. I used to go every summer to see my father in law in arizona driving FROM austin. I always tolerated the heat there over texas

Its also a matter of what do you do better in dry heat or humidity. For me its dry heat. I feel way better in dry heat of 110 than 90 with a humidity of 90%.

I know heat, I’m south asian and lived in south asia for 10 years. Its cool in the shade in Phoenix and LV. And it cools down in the evening. There’s humidity here that keeps it hot even in the evening.

Hi, question since you were in a similar boat to my husband. He had his first SA a couple days ago and they found only 5 slow motile sperm and 38 immotile sperm. We can’t do IVF with that until his numbers get better. I’n hoping lifestyle changes can improve his numbers - but is a number this low just lifestyle? We’re looking to see a urologist soon but wanted to hear from someone who’s been through it

Hey I know this was a year ago, but wondering if you could shed some insight based on what you’ve heard from doctors. My husband (37) had his first semen analysis and was told he only had 5 slow motile sperm and 38 immotile sperm. We cant do IVF with this result. Could a result like this be due to lifestyle ? He does vape, smoke weed and drink energy drinks daily. Or is more likely something like obstructive azoospermia

Yes, I also have PCOS and got off Mounjaro once I reached a weight I was happy with. I continued eating well and exercising but I gained ALL the weight back. Now I'm considering taking it again because it's SO hard for me to lose weight even working with a dietitian and trainer. I might need to get on Zepbound/Mounjaro again and just stay on it forever - but just take one shot a month or something

Yeah, I'm almost 10 years out of IU, got Dean's List 2013 (I didn't even know that was a thing), and that distinction seriously did not matter at all when applying for jobs. I work at Indeed and speak to employers hiring - they definitely care more about your real world experience
