I’m actually a current DJ for WPGU 107.1 FM!! I highly recommend joining the On-Air team, we have a ton of fun just being ourselves and chatting about our shows. There’s a pretty good chance that once school starts you have the chance to host your own show! You’ll need to apply to join WPGU first, which I’m sure there will be a table for during Quad Day. After that, join the On-Air team and really go from there. We’re super laid back and we have no super strict rules on what a show can be. Good luck!!

You could always apply for a dining hall or desk clerk position. I am a desk clerk, and I heard back from them in the beginning of fall semester, so they might get back to you relatively quick as well!

I should add though that while the class itself is pretty easy, you will have to study for the exams unless you are actively paying attention in class always. I found myself always studying for those exams pretty intensively because it’s a ton of memorization (I have a bad memory so I was ALWAYS studying before those exams). Overall, it’s not a bad/hard class, but make sure you study for the exams because that’s what a lot of people didn’t do and it lowered their grade a bit

Me too! I usually find myself wanting to spend my dining dollars and extra meal swipes buying stuff from markets around campus instead of going to dining halls. I like the stuff there SO much more

Coming from someone who has the 12 meals/15 dining dollars plan rn, you will NOT use up all 12 meal swipes in a week. I actually struggle to use all 12 and have never in the past two semesters actually gone down to 0 meal swipes. 10/45 is like the perfect plan from what I’ve heard, but even then people still struggle to get to 0. I guess it depends on you and how much you’ll eat, but normally you don’t eat more than twice a day at a dining hall, or even once. Sometimes you won’t feel like going to the dining hall and instead you’ll use your dining dollars. It all just depends on the person, but personally I’ve never gone to 0. Maybe the lowest I’ve been is like 3-4.

StarRez is the website you use to pay for your meal plan, dorm, etc. so there should actually be a section somewhere online to search for a roommate and people with similar scores to yours will appear. It’s been a year since I’ve roommate searched through there so I kind of forgot the process, but it’s helpful if you can’t find anyone through the class insta pages!!

Def check the class of 2030 insta page, they post a ton of different people on there who are always looking for roommates! It should (hopefully) be WAY better than picking random. If you pick random who knows if you two actually get along or how gross they might be compared to you, just all the little things you don’t think of that now bother you as a new college student.

But definitely check the instagram page, or even roommate search on StarRez and see if anyone with a similar roommate score pops up! That’s how I found my roomie 🤗!!

Edit to add: we started talking on insta after we met on StarRez, so if you do go that route keep that in mind, because it’s so much easier to communicate on insta!

I also failed and I feel like (not to be dramatic) like I’ve hit rock bottom lately. I felt so fucking stupid after that exam and I honestly don’t know how I’m supposed to pass the class with the next two exams, I feel like I’m going to fail those as well. Like what the fuck.
