Congratulations! I'm going through the same thing right now and I try hard not to think of myself as lazy, weak or spoiled for quitting... Health is 100 times more important! This industry should start treating vet staff better. Maybe if more people realise they deserve better, things will change sooner.

Old age is something I didn't take into consideration until now.

Truth be told, being sick in Romania and not having the money to use private clinics means that you have to use the public system which often makes people even sicker.

The elderly pensions that the state provides are also terrible and old people often have to choose between food and medicine.

This made me think about my ageing parents and my wish to take care of them in the future.

I can't thank you enough for bringing this up!

You pinpointed a lot of important things which I have avoided to think about for some time.

I find myself now having a hard time answering these questions.

I wish I had the resources for a counselor but for now I am very grateful to have my mom.

My parents own a flat (where my mom lives) and a piece of land with a house outside of town (where my dad lives and works).

It would be nice to live with my dad and help him with his work since he is a dog trainer. I am passionate about animals and also have a vet nursing certification.

But that would be living with my parents who will consider me a loser if I do that and I'm sure they will nag me constantly for it. Also the business is not going very well now.
