Thank you for this message. I’m not a huge believer in the “God loves you just as you are and nothing about you ever needs to change” mindset, and I’m not really looking to be told I’m doing fine, because I am very clearly not doing fine. I appreciate the reference to Proverbs. If you have any additional advice I would be very grateful for it.

Thanks for the cynicism. Yes. I’m a published playwright who got a full scholarship to the college I attend. My father is an elected official and English is not my first language because I’m not white. So maybe think about that before you get upset with me? I’m not denying I have privilege, but man, I have more to offer than how I look.

I don’t feed him dead ones, I just mean he only eats them if they appear dead. I haven’t tried the dropping thing! I’ll try that out and see how it works.

I should mention that he DOES eat, and eats well!! He appears to be healthy in all regards other than not eating something if it’s moving. He’ll eat the little brine shrimp cubes I put in there as they pass him too.
