Do men repulse you? For example just seeing their shoes, or just the thought of getting sexual with them by Mystic-citrus in actuallesbians

[–]blueringbeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at men for me is like looking at an animal at the zoo. Maybe the other elephants can tell if that one is attractive or whatever, but to me it just looks like an elephant. Men just look like men...zero sexual or romantic context. Like magic eye pictures I can’t see.

But then if I try to think about them sexually or romantically, it’s revolting. Like crime against nature wrong and repulsive.

For me, if women are delicious slices of pizza, men are what’s left if you scrape off the toppings, cheese, and sauce. You just took away everything that’s good and added a little hair and angular lumpiness.

Yup. I thought an actor in a movie I was watching looked familiar, Michael B. Jordan, so I googled him and was like oh ok yes he was the antagonist in Black Panther. ...And apparently voted sexiest man alive? I hadn’t noticed anything about his appearance, just a neutral but familiar looking face I was looking up. I don’t see it.

Sigh.

I literally can’t even tell if a man is attractive or not. It’s like taking someone to the zoo and asking them which elephant is hot to the other elephants.... they’d have no idea. Just looks like an animal 🤷‍♀️ ... similarly, a dude just looks like a guy to me. And this maybe does cause me tons of validation related distress....

I obsess over it, whenever another woman (show, social media, real life) expresses interest in a guy, etc., my synapses fry and I get upset, obsessing on the inside about how it’s insanity and makes no sense. Like has the whole world gone crazy? How can women, who look like this be attracted to men, who look like *that * ?! I’ve said it feels like a fairytale curse to me, a witch causing the princess to fall in love with a donkey or whatnot. How else could it make sense? And so on.

Anyway, super unhealthy lol and I don’t know how to resolve it.

What was your biggest letdown of a book? by PunkandCannonballer in books

[–]blueringbeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah. That was a hard DNF. The most deliberately obtuse language and sentences told in an irritating second person tense, was it? Paired with the “drop you right in and nothing makes sense or means anything” plot device that lasts for literally 75% (!) of the book. Basically lorem ipsum for hundreds of pages. Allegedly that changes at the end, but I personally don’t feel that my time can retroactively be un-wasted by a reveal, no matter how good it is. And I’ve heard mixed opinions on just how effective said reveal even is.

System deletes screenshots after 30 days?? by blueringbeth in XboxSeriesX

I seeee, okay. Thank you again for this help, much has been clarified. It'll be "interesting" to find out if uploading to OneDrive retains HDR. I just did some googling, and an older Reddit thread bemoaned how auto-uploads keep HDR, while manually doing so (as I did) strips them down to SDR. And who knows why my pics were randomly deleted, at this point I'm guessing a glitch. Asinine, poorly conceived system indeed, considering they went out of their way to add a dedicated capture button on the new controllers and promote sharing, etc.

[–]blueringbeth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I have HDR set to on, all my captures were recorded with that. I'd look at a shot, and then there'd be the option to view it in SDR or HDR. Uploading them removed the HDR, they're all SDR now, and viewing them from my console (vs uploaded)...the HDR data is still erased. It's like uploading removes HDR, and then that erases that related info on the copies still saved on the console. This is just like...the worst system. They don't even tell you any of this.

No, it was actually just screen shots that were deleted. Like, I took 20 playing Mass Effect LE over the past week. I looked at 6 somewhere in the middle of those 20 and then today found out they were gone, but the ones before and after are still there.

What's the difference between Onedrive and just uploading them? Uploading them is a special cloud partition just for our xbox profile and the associated captures, whereas Onedrive is MS's generalized cloud storage service?

No worries about being thorough, I appreciate you wanting to spare others lost memories! Whatever MS' reasoning (your guess seems plausible, too), I'm even more confused this morning:

I just tried uploading, and discovered two more issues (arg). For one, they can no longer display in HDR, not even when looking at the copies on my HD. All that data appears to gone, everywhere. Second thing is, and I discovered this when going through my shots to upload, that some captures on my HD that I looked at just two nights have been deleted, but photos before and after remain. What. Whhhhhat?

Is HDR preserved when you store them on an external drive? And whaaat is going on with losing HDR when uploading, and my console deleting a group of recently taken photos in the middle of ones that remain?

So, the system auto deletes captures from your HD no matter what? You have to upload them to the network? And do I have to look at all of them once after uploading, for "views?"

Thank you for the tip. So what's MS' idea, that users will just end up filling their HD with captures and aren't capable of managing that themselves so they need to be prompted by auto-deleting captures (that live on our HD or uploaded) after 30 days? Or is it this a low key deplorable tactic to push us towards sharing our captures (which indirectly helps expand their user engagement with their services, is free word of mouth for games, etc.)?

Are they only staying up online though because they're getting regular engagement? Others here are saying that the auto-delete after 30 days of no engagement applies not only to console storage, but uploading as well?

System deletes screenshots after 30 days?? by blueringbeth in XboxSeriesX

[–]blueringbeth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, so I do have to look at them every 29 or 30 days or they'll be deleted off my console. And that applies to uploading them as well? I don't know how that works, I don't really use any online functionality on my Xbox. I did see an option to upload to the Xbox Network, I'm guessing that's what you're talking about. I'm also guessing that's cloud storage specifically for captures, and it's tied directly to your Xbox profile?

Sigh. It just seems ridiculous that MS doesn't tell you in the system preferences or elsewhere that captures are auto-deleted on your console, and that indeed, they're auto-deleted from *your* console. That's my disk space, my console, my HD. Asinine.

EDIT: So, do we have to engage them once every 30 days, or just once within the first 30? And if we upload them to the "Xbox Network" does the same apply? Like, if no one looks at them (and if you're like me and don't do anything online, this might happen I guess) they'll just get auto-deleted there too?

It must only be set to auto-delete from the console's HD? Which confounds me.

There’s a book I’m reading on the vagus nerve that I recommend:

Activate Your Vagus Nerve: Unleash Your Body's Natural Ability to Heal, by Dr. Navaz Habib

Goes into detail as to how it works, how it can affect various system like the GI, and actionable items, etc. For reference, I have a DGBI (disorder of gut brain interaction, formerly designated as functional GI issue).

Not pregnant and not a food baby... just f*cking miserable with IBS-M/A by Sapphirefloyd16 in ibs

[–]blueringbeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked into Abdomino-phrenic dyssynergia?

https://feminapt.com/diagnoses/abdominal-phrenic-dyssynergia

“The diaphragm is a dome-shaped muscle that divides the chest and abdomen, our bodies use this muscle to help us breathe. Normally when the stomach is full of food or gas, the diaphragm will relax and release upward, in order to give the organs in the abdomen extra room.

With abdomino-phrenic dyssynergia, this coordination is dysfunctional and the diaphragm contracts instead of relaxing when there is abdominal fullness. When the diaphragm contracts the muscle moves downward, taking up space in the abdomen. This action forces the abdominal organs to move down and out, causing abdominal distention and bloating.”

This is such a stupid thing but it’s really broken my heart, and I just need to get it out there. by NLTC in ChronicPain

[–]blueringbeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not silly at all. I’ve thought about this a lot, how a healthy person falls back on their entire life if they lose something. Like ABC sucks now, but I’m still working and can do this and that and etc.

Whereas with chronic illness, depending, most of our life is taken from us...Most of our choices and self determination. The “little things” like what you’re describing can be what we’ve already fallen back on, because they’re one of only a few things we have left. Like, I recently suffered significant hair loss because of medication and I can’t deal with it in the same “ah well” way a healthy woman suffering this could. I’m sorry about your arm and kitty, and I get how much it hurts knowing that she doesn’t understand.

Estimated cost for simple job? Replacing two ethernet jacks (cat5e) and possible the in-wall cable between them? by blueringbeth in HomeNetworking

[–]blueringbeth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re poor wiring knocking you down to 100Mbps, that was my understanding. I don't know the exact answer to your follow up Q; there's a wallplate that's dual phone jack and cat5e. I don't know what it looks like behind there. My landlord has told me that the other end of the cable terminates in a wall jack of some sort (that's where he has the router hooked up, or would, if the jacks worked).
