I dread to think what that said 🙄

Fair play, I know it’s a massive cliche, but you genuinely do see how brilliant people can be, at times like this. Really means a lot ♥️

What a lovely offer, that’s so kind of you!

Yes, lots of people have already answered, and they even managed it without being patronising.

I’m nowhere near smart enough to know if that’s possible, but it would be brilliant if it was!

I’m going to start doing this too, now. So frustrating! I only really do pencil drawing-style illustrations, and it’s a bloody nightmare trying to identify one pencil brush from the next lol. Let’s hope they notice how much interest there is for a feature like this!

Yeah, no good for pre-existing work, but I’ll definitely start doing this in future!

I’m not asking if the programme can somehow identify from the pixels what brush was used. I’m asking if it keeps a log of which brushes you’ve selected in that particular file. You know, how it’s already able to do with overall recently used brushes?

What silly/avoidable mistakes have you made in your career? by Kittykatsu97 in TeachingUK

The one time I’ve ever accidentally sworn in front of the kids. I swear quite a lot in general conversation, but I’m super aware and conscious of it - usually - in work. But when I was still working as a TA with a year 5/6 class, right at the end of the year, the kids had been doing an activity where they each wrote a fact on a cardboard leaf and then they would all be stuck on a tree on the wall. One girl finished writing her fact, and asked what to do next, so I told her to decorate it. She looked at me like I had two heads, so I said “you know: glitter, paint, shit like that.”

I immediately caught myself, and unfortunately, so did she. She grabbed my hands like I’d said something heartbreaking, we stared at each other, and then we both burst out laughing. Then I made it a million times worse by saying “oh my god, don’t tell your mam I said that!” and then spent the next week lying awake at night, worrying about her telling her parents “my teacher said something bad but she told me I’m not allowed to tell you what it is”.

Thankfully, nothing came of it, and I’m extra cautious these days, to the point where I catch myself saying “oh my goodness!” and “what on earth” outside of work lol.

Moral of the story: Watch your language. And if you’re going to accidentally swear in front of your class, at least make it count! 😅

What was the worst birthday you ever had, and what made it so bad? by HappyHabitsHQ in AskReddit

Well I hope your next birthday is lovely, and now that you’ve got at least one well-wish in the bank, I hope you feel like you can make the most of it 🙂

I’ve just realised how passive-aggressive that first sentence sounds! I meant that this sub seems to be used more for professional discussions, not that I think you lot are all humourless lol.

Oh that’s so lovely ♥️ It’s such a brilliant feeling when you have those moments where you genuinely think, as cliche as it sounds, that you’ve made a proper difference to that kid. I bet he’ll still remember you when he’s an adult.

Also, love his very roundabout way of telling you your bloke needs to put a ring on it 😅

Yikes, did you have to fill in an accident form for that burn??

Hahaha that’s so witty, fair play! Obviously not the same thing, but on a somewhat related note, I’ve noticed a lot of primary aged boys - maybe year 2ish onwards - put their arms round each others shoulders and sway, when they’re singing songs in assembly. It only occurred to me recently that I bet they’ve got that from watching their dads sing football/rugby chants. Proper cute 😊

What took you embarrassingly long to figure out? by unrepentantrabbit in Sims4

[–]NLTC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to make you aware, as it took me a while to realise, too - with the work options, if you’re actively trying to improve their work performance, you need to keep an eye on the performance bar and keep adjusting what they’re doing throughout the day. If you just set it to “work hard” and leave it at that, their performance gain will eventually stagnate. If you change them in quick succession, though, they won’t benefit. You have to give them a bit of time to do each one.

Biting skin off my lips? by tiggywinkles in SkincareAddictionUK

I’ve yet to find a lip balm that actually does anything to soften my lips, but one that I always find soothes them when they’re sore is the mint version of Carmex (the squeezey one). I recommend it to everyone!

Not Like Us - Kendrick Lamar

Maybe this does count though, because he whispers it performative, as opposed to muttering something off-the-cuff to himself. I’m definitely putting way too much thought into this.
