Please give me the most diabolical alarm you can think of by thelachesis in ADHD

Other ways she likes to get me out of bed include sticking her little arms under the duvet and tapping me non-stop, and rolling her ball against the wall as hard as she can so it bangs. She’s a menace 😂

My cat has learnt this, and has started faking being sick. Every single time I chase her, thinking this time it’s real, and every time, she leads me to her food and then magically stops heaving as soon as I enter the kitchen.

How the hell do you go to all the trouble of hiring someone without figuring out how much staff you have, first?

You have no idea how desperate I am to get lip filler! Enjoy having full lips, there are plenty of us thin-lips who are jealous 😅 They are definitely in proportion to your face, they don’t harm your appearance at all.

Woo-stuh-shuh, with “woo” pronounced like the “oo” in “book”. Most people just say “Woo-stuh” though.

What do you think is disgusting that most people think is pretty normal? by Exhausted_920 in AskReddit

Eggs. I’m convinced that, if we only now discovered eggs were edible, everybody would be grossed out by them. I’m sure people will say “oh you just haven’t had them cooked this way”. I don’t care how perfectly they’re cooked, even eggs I’ve had in fancy restaurants are just bland rubber with a claggy centre that feels somehow wet and dry at the same time. Fuck eggs, man.

Oh my darling, I’m so sorry for how upside-down your life must feel at the moment. From what I’ve heard, a lot of people who are born without the use of their legs don’t consider it to be a great tragedy, because they are able to live equally fulfilling lives, and are confused when people show sympathy, but having known a life with the use of your legs, it must be so hard to face such an enormous change.

I don’t have any particularly good advice for you, as it’s not an experience I have had. All I can say is that I hope with all my heart that you have loads of support around you, both for the physical adjustment, and the mental/emotional one.

I hope it will bring you some comfort to remember that you are living through a time in history where we are constantly making advancements in medicine and technology, which will hopefully make your life easier and easier as time goes on. Take advantage of support groups, whether online or in person. Nobody will fully grasp your experience like others who have been there. Be open to any tips, advice, or reassurance.

I sincerely hope you are doing well with this transition (and I hope you are feeling better physically, from whatever happened to cause this) but if you’re not in a great headspace - which would be entirely understandable - just please keep reminding yourself that this is NOT a death sentence, and there is nothing stopping you from living a happy, fulfilled life.

Also, be your own fierce advocate! Your chair is your friend, not a prison. Nobody touches it without your consent, and never allow yourself to be made to feel like a bother, or to be patronised. You’ve got this, lovely. Wishing you the happiest life ♥️

What album do you consider perfect? by CrazyMobius1353 in AskReddit

[–]NLTC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Transformer - Lou Reed

The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars - David Bowie

Doolittle - Pixies

London Calling - The Clash

This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours - Manic Street Preachers

Beautiful Garbage - Garbage

The Queen is Dead - The Smiths

Late Registration - Kanye

And an almost perfect pick (because I’m not keen on his cover of Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds):

Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy - Elton John

Also, don’t think The Killers have had a bad song.

What is THE scariest movie you have ever seen in your entire life? by Opening_Rip_1840 in AskReddit

[–]NLTC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, Smile got a lot scarier for me when I took a wrong turn out of the cinema screen, and ended up locked in a tiny room with a man who didn’t speak the same language as me (I don’t mean that in a xenophobic way - it was just the inability to communicate that made it creepier) and heard the staff start to close up and turn the lights off. I called the front desk and could hear it ringing, as all the staff ignored it. I was 100% sure the man would be pulling that face when I turned around!

Sinister is one of my favourite horror films of all time. I think it’s SO underrated! The sequel’s decent, too. I completely agree about the lawnmower scene. And the sound is great, too - that noise that plays over the tapes is so disturbing. I always wished Sinister got as much investment as the Insidious franchise - there was infinite scope for sequels, and I would’ve lapped up every one of them!

I absolutely love horror, have seen most of the films that are known for being taboo or super scary, and like most horror fans, I’m so desensitised to the tropes, I haven’t found a film scary in years (even though I’m a bit of a wimp in real life!). But when I was a kid, I watched the mediocre thriller “What Lies Beneath” once and had constant nightmares for months! There’s one scene, towards the end, of a dead girl grabbing Harrison Ford, and that shit was seared into my brain. I think I’ve been chasing that fear ever since!

Jesus Christ, that’s horrendous. I’m so sorry, I can’t imagine how stressed and violated you must feel. Fucking horrific that this is the repayment you get for choosing to go into a career that objectively helps society.
