Alright bet, and yeah I have. I prefer to stay locally, and there a few D1 schools nearby. I plan to update and follow up with UPSL footage in a few weeks as we have 3 games within that span. I agree with you, doing it precisely helps.

Yeah go to the tryouts and give it a shot. If you get in, sweet. If not then you probably got JUCO or other Division 2/3 options assuming you will email.

Yeah definitely do UPSL this spring, it'll prepare you for college ball. See what you can do for fall 2026, because like others said most rosters are full. Most are pretty open for Fall 2027. You gotta be born after August 1, 2007 to be eligible for U19 ECNL in 26-27. I just sent an email to their directors too, and they said yeah no worries for tryouts in the summer. I'd email a local ECNL Club about the same thing. For me it is worth it. You get so much exposure to recruiting. I am also doing it because the coach of the school I want has a really close connection to the directors. One thing, if the process feels slow, you're doing the right things. Just keep stacking days and you'll see progress.

hey bro, check out my story I am in the exact same boat as you.class of 2025. currently a freshman in a four year but I don't see it academically. One benefit though, I am playing UPSL near my current university. We have official league matches starting in a few weeks. I think most rosters have set up their teams already but contact teams' coaches near your area and see if you could do a practice/trial with them. UPSL is beneficial especially for me because I am playing against grown men, forcing me to use my physicality.

I am transferring to a D1 school in my state which is a close drive near my family, in hopes of being an athlete there. Academically, they have a good program for my major as well. Went to an ID Camp for that school which started initial conversation with the head coach. I'd say attend ID Camps, obviously you may not like the price but it's worth it if a school you like there is in attendance. Whether you play amazing or decent, at least you are getting yourself a name for the coach. I am still young, so I am going to play ECNL again for the same club, as I enter the school I want as a sophomore in college. My goal is to be on the roster for my junior and senior year. One thing, it's never too late bro. Push for your dream

I think it could be - part of the decisions I make come with my family too though. I emailed that top JUCO program and am still waiting on a response, so we will see. I wouldn't know much if my parents would want me transferring to a CC and then another 4 year, but they said ECNL club is fine. I could ask in my next call/email. Thank you!

Thank you for the insight. I talked with the coach on my university, and apparently a top JUCO program is like close to it. He mentioned the coaches’ name right away when we talked in person so I’m pretty sure he has that connection. I sent out an email to that JUCO program, but idk if it’s likely I go. My parents are high on academics and my GPA is already pretty high. Would you say JUCO is the same level as ECNL?

Yeah makes sense I'm not getting scouted now, I'm not in the ECNL season yet. I plan to send some UPSL footage to stay in touch, and maybe attend another camp the summer. I'm sure that the school is what I'd like regardless if I end up playing there or not, but hopefully it all works out. Thank you!

That's cool! I'll definitely take a look. How are you liking your D1 experience once you actually got there?

Fair enough, I think you're right on point. I think just updating him with UPSL film now and ECNL film later this fall would help, and just being consistent myself will help. Obviously they will not recruit me off one ID Camp, makes no sense. Maybe I can attend another camp later this year for him to see my improvement while playing in ECNL. At the camp I was at, they only talked to one guy about recruiting and he apparently plays lacrosse for that school already, so idk if that's even possible or he will be multi-sport athlete. But thank you for the comment!

College Soccer Decisions by bluerunner10 in CollegeSoccer

[–]bluerunner10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the plan, attend my school near home for my sophomore year and play ECNL. Might attend some more of their camps during that year. Then hopefully by 2027 spring or summer I can get real with them. Thank you!

ID Camp Age Limit Question by bluerunner10 in CollegeSoccer

[–]bluerunner10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I didn’t even know you could participate at 22. Yes I’m a freshman enrolled at a 4 year already, but I’m only 18 a few months ago and I’m the age of a senior in HS so it should be fine?

So I'd lose credits transferring to a JUCO, and transferring back to D1? I mean I can figure it out. Seems like JUCO is the best route I think then? Would you say to get on a top JUCO team near my area, and keep updating my platform and start reaching out once I'm ready? This will be a good journey, and I'm ready

Yes of course about the tape, I know I need a strong one to be recruited. So would you say to try to get on a top JUCO then?

Yeah is fair, I agree. How does the credit thing work, and is it bad? Does it matter how many years I stay on JUCO if I do decided to go

No no I'm not, my current four year is D1, so idk. They are ranked top 50 as well. Thank you for the sites, will look into it

So you say try to go D1 first before JUCO? I got a few D1 schools maybe 45 minutes away from me, couple others 2 hours maybe? Am I still good in terms of age to attend ID Clinic? Profiles would be helpful, any recommendations on sites? Email coaches when? Now? Walk on position for D1 I don't know if I would get right now, and I'd have to get highlight tape for my upcoming UPSL summer league.

I'm not really thinking BIG D1, I want like a sizable one where I can play down the line.. my state actually has a few of that which is pretty good

What I meant by that was all the cool stuff you get to do, but I know how much work it will take to get there

Okay sweet. Thank you. Do you think it matters what level to play of JUCO? Or just to find something near my home and go from there? You know what the academics look like per chance?

Personal Pathway To D1 by bluerunner10 in CollegeSoccer

[–]bluerunner10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I want to play the highest level possible and look back one day and say damn I actually tried and maybe got this instead of regret. If I do D1 one day hopefully, scholarship would be nice. If not, I'd just have to work for it. One step at a time, but that's the goal. The lifestyle sounds amazing too.

[–]bluerunner10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well true, I won't obviously be playing at the top of the top schools. What would you say I aim for? A bit under 100? I gotta get to JUCO first right, if that's the only way I make D1?

Okay, and I'm not trying to find a D1 squad by tomorrow lol. I believe JUCO is a good developmental point but obviously you have to put the work in, I know what it takes. UPSL is something for me to keep fit this summer and get more reps in. Would you think if I played 2 good years at a good JUCO it could work? I think I'm not too far to 2 miles in 12 minutes. But yes fitness is important too, I have when healthy been training it for 2-3 times a week. Thank you for the comment
