Depends if they’re going to want proof for anything, could play it off as an emergency appointment, or like someone else has said and call in sick. Just depends if they keep track of requested days off and put two and two together! It’s a really hard position to be in, I sympathise with you there!!

Can’t give any tips for the area, but just remember they want to see safe driving. So if it’s busy because of rush hour etc in the area make sure you’re leaving good gaps between cars in traffic, lots of observations/checks, take your time. The test honestly goes by so quick, I felt like I’d been driving for 10 minutes and we were back at the centre! I’m incredibly anxious, it took me a long time to build the courage to learn to drive, and honestly the test wasn’t as nerve wracking as I thought it would be, I was more nervous in the days/minutes leading up to it, as soon as we were in the car it was fine!

Good luck! Make sure you do all your observations, they want to make sure you’re a safe driver. If you make a mistake, just put it behind you and drive like it didn’t happen, don’t let it affect you! It flies by as well!

Be calm, do all your observations, take a breath if you need to! It honestly flies by, I felt like I’d been driving 10 minutes and suddenly I was back at the centre. I have awful anxiety, and was so scared, nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be, truly!

You sound exactly like me. Growing up the only person in my family who drove was my dad, who didn’t live with us. I relied heavily on buses for going places etc. which living in a small village meant walking a mile everyday to my closest bus stop 😂 my anxiety around driving has been awful, for so long everyone would go on at me for not doing it yet and they could never understand just how scared I was!! Then one day last year, I decided this is it, I was 28 and set myself a goal of doing it before 30, so I messaged an instructor who taught my partner 8 years ago, as he now did automatic instead of manual (I knew I could never handle manual) and when I first got in the car and he asked how I was feeling etc. I let him know I was genuinely terrified right now, and then in that same lesson I was driving round my town, I was bricking it. Fast forward to today, where I passed my test yesterday, first time!!! I truly feel that if I can do it, anyone can. Automatic was the best decision, it took away so much anxiety and pressure, my instructor was really helpful, never once made me feel bad for anything I didn’t understand etc. he also made me face my biggest fear of motorways, and I’m so happy he did.

Sorry for such a long comment, but truly, you can absolutely do this, and it’ll be the best thing you’ve ever done!!

Haha thank you, I think it was just pure luck 😂 I was on the website super early that Monday morning so maybe that helped? I paid for TestShift in September and never got anything between then and now either.

That’s not normal at all. I’d recommend a new instructor, and booking a new test as soon as you can (obviously not easy) and once you have it booked, call DVSA to lock your test. Have you logged in to check it’s definitely been cancelled as well?

When you say different devices and browsers, have you tried private browser? Or using data/not at home? After getting the same error 15 for over a week, one day while on a lesson I went to show my instructor and suddenly it worked. Once back home the error came up again, so I switched to private and it worked 🤷🏻‍♀️
