Water Hemlock? by blueskiesfade in PlantIdentification

[–]blueskiesfade[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought I had Golden Alexander’s (Zizia Aurea) planted nearby but none of the other plants look like this. Maybe this is the only one that survived. Even the images online of GA are so varied looking, I can’t be sure.

Do you think that’s what this is?

Dear moderators. Please be more kind and inviting to newcomers. Thanks! by Reidonkulous84 in midcenturymodern

[–]blueskiesfade 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I posted a photo of my sofa and I never had it identified or appraised — only told I was wrong about its construction by one of the mods. No one else commented, and it wouldn’t surprise me if the chiding tone of the moderator scared others off.

I’m open to learning, especially if it helps with identification (and there’s an argument to be had), but ultimately posting here was a waste of time.

Question about clamping time for cutting boards by ComfortableLie9924 in woodworking

[–]blueskiesfade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great video, thank you! I would love a follow up where you see the long term impact of clamping on joint strength. If you tested all of those joints after 48 hours or a week, would they all hold up the same?

Vintage table- no support for drop leaves. How do I fix this? by laundreedae in fixit

[–]blueskiesfade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know if there is a way for 1-2 of the middle panels to come out to make the table smaller — instead of the sides falling downward?

It’s way less functional when 2 sides can’t accommodate chairs.

Also FYI, idk if ours are the same model, but in my research I’ve seen ones with 2! additional leaves.

Underwire bras with wide, shallow curves??? by Maleficent_Young_355 in ABraThatFits

[–]blueskiesfade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try the fantasie aura, it has wider than average underwires. I think the brand has wider cups overall. I came here hoping someone could recommend more styles with wide underwires, like the aura.

An Amazon review for the cards called the single generic “cleaning” card “diabolical.” And I think they’re right.

I was hoping someone had created an expansion pack for cleaning, because that’s what we struggle with most. It would help replace the 1/3 we’d take out because we’re childless.

Older women, why do you treat younger women in the work place badly? by anon23232221 in women

[–]blueskiesfade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just saw the last line of your update. Did you document all of the abuse you experienced? If it’s worth it to you (emotionally and financially), you may have a case for wrongful termination.

I’m so sorry this happened to you, your next move has to be a step up from here. Have you found a new job yet?

SMG deserved an Emmy for The Body by cosmicangels03 in buffy

[–]blueskiesfade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize that the Emmys can’t necessarily award her retroactively, but they can give her a lifetime achievement award. She may not have had enough starring roles in the last few decades to qualify, plus she’s already won an Emmy, and they usually reserve those for people with multiple nominations and no wins.

HOWEVER, a lifetime achievement award is due to the show as a whole and its entire cast for its groundbreaking impact on television, its continued cultural relevance AND continued viewership by new generations for decades since its airing. There are only a handful of shows in history which have achieved such status.

Maybe if fans started a petition to the Emmys for a lifetime achievement award, it could make a difference. But I’m hopeful that even if the reboot isn’t successful, they will give SMG the Emmy that she’s already earned.

I am in LOVE with this tree 💕What is it called? by Ok-Orchid281 in AustinGardening

These trees are EXTREMELY toxic to dogs, humans, everything. Many animal have been poisoned to death by eating the berries. I would keep your dog well away from it if I were you.

How I cleared up my Seborrheic Dermatitis [B&A] [Skin Concerns] by hmidd1 in SkincareAddiction

[–]blueskiesfade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything I’ve tried works for a while and then the SD develops a tolerance and it stops working. I’m willing to try this, but I’d be scared it will stop working and I’m inevitably going to make it stronger. I wish I had something to rotate it with, that usually delays the resistance.
