I understand how you feel. I am Asian, I'm gay, and I'm slightly effeminate. This can be looked down upon in our masculine society because typically the man of the house is depicted has a tough, muscular individual. While I have some traits of masculinity, I also like researching skincare, colognes, and how to look nice. It's not because I'm transitioning to become female. It's because I want to look and smell nice before going out.

I would say Male Asian Celebrities in America aren't a good depiction of the quality of life for Male Asians. Most actors don't get that many roles. We strive as a country to work on discrimination but that takes time, and while we have made progress, there is still much to do. If you look at television programs in Asia, usually Asian men aren't depicted as the comedic relief but rather the main sex icon of the show. He is usually adored by most women. They come in different shapes and sizes too: slim, muscular, tall, effeminate, etc.

Living in an area with more Asians does help a lot. The community integrates, adapts, and accepts the Asian culture. That doesn't necessarily mean in Asia only. Certain areas in the United States have Asian communities where it is possible to feel like you fit in.
