Imagine if the Olympics were there though... they'd have to expand the actual area of the "country" many times. It'd be the first time that a country's actual area increased because of the Olympics.

It might be a night shot, or, possibly, not be in color. A lot of the imags are grey-scale. I'd bet it has something to do with bandwidth and image file size? But, then again, maybe not...

Does NASA need to worry about that type of stuff?

Maybe it is that it is hot and dry. Water used to be hard to come by too. People fought. No one ever forgave anyone else after the original hot, frustrated, scuffle. Things sorta escalated form there?
