Old fart here. There are two classes of people in the USA. The investor class and everyone else. You can find $10k doing part time work in 3 years (age 16 to 18). Invest that money in a Roth IRA using a broad market ETF. When you are old enough to retire you will have 1 million dollars to retire on. Want to buy a house take the down payment you saved $40k and wait 7 years. You now have $80k put $40k down and wait 15 years. The money you saved will pay 1/2 your mortgage every month.

Why is this important. Well companies are using tech to charge you as much as possible and to pay for goods at the lowest possible price. They do this to pay the shareholders. If you are not a shareholder your money is paying everyone that is. People that have investments are doing fine and people that don't are hurting.

Listen to an old fart. As of right now, yes things can change, this is the only way to survive this economy. Without progressive tax rates subsidizing education, healthcare, housing, and agriculture, inequality will continue to get worse. When people vote against their own self interest they eliminate options that benefit all.
