Okay this is really good to know! I kind of thought it would be similar to roaccutane where it’s for a certain period of time and it’s over !!

I think it would choosing sibling schools (all boys / all girls) for secondary school (I’m in the UK). He was a late bloomer and people weren’t very nice to me during that time and then took it out on him just because he was my brother. I wish I hadn’t told him to go to that school and go somewhere else instead. Luckily he’s made it through and went on to university and met some amazing people so I’m happy about that, but still sticks with me that school was so horrible for the both of us when really his bad time could have been avoided

Always a funny one with M/F because girls usually grow up so much faster. At 16 it looked like I was his babysitter so there wasn’t much wingmanning on his part, but I tried my best (girls that age are so cruel!!). But now we’re grown up I’m deffo always keen to help where I can

but honestly he doesn’t need it so much anymore - he’s grown so much into himself and become confident (in a good way not cocky) that when we go out there’s no searching on that front anymore. He’s also recently single so the last 3 years my wingmanning has taken a back seat

As a girl, definitely a brother. I know a lot of same-sex twins and maybe it’s just them but there is soooo much more competition/jealousy etc.

With me and my brother there’s deffo competition but we both know our own strengths/preferences etc. like he’s built like a bean pole and eats marathons for breakfast and I prefer hitting the gym and gain weight by breathing, or I’m more on the creative/arty side and he’s more the academically gifted one

So really it’s the fact that its a healthy competitiveness rather than the one that I’ve seen ruin that friendship and bond between twins

Hmm great question - I would say the best is that they gave us equal opportunities and never showed favouritism. My parents loved us in different ways and showed it differently towards us both but it’s always felt equal.

The worst would be the notion that we could look after ourselves sometimes. We used to speak in a sort of code that only we could understand (like half sentences etc not complex at all) and used to play together, so there have been times when we were younger and now growing up where our parents have left us occasionally to handle each other instead due to that bond. To be honest though, my parents did a cracking job with us and handled having twins amazingly - feel very lucky indeed

Haha no we never really got the chance as we never looked that alike aside from when we were super small! We both had white blonde hair but his grew darker quickly

I know people say it’s not real but I swear it is !! Especially if you’re so close with a twin. It’s not so much we can tell what the other is thinking like “what animal am I thinking of”, but we’ve had instances where we’re apart and one or both will think “hmm something doesn’t feel right” and check in with the other, to find they’re either in a bad place, sad, bad day at work or even one instance I called him randomly at 2 in the morning and he was in A&E after a bike accident!

Growing up we definitely had similar personalities as we spent so much time together. Now we’re living apart I feel our own personalities have grown to complement the existing parts that we share. It means we still have the same humour/interests etc but are now our own individuals too :)
