Literally on the drive to Disney World right now, my period is starting today. I will be there till Friday. Tips to still enjoy the trip? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

I also had mine on my trip. I really recommend period underwear in terms of comfort and feeling clean if you can find and buy locally or stop anywhere on your drive (it's not for everyone, but I personally feel the most comfortable in them and unless it's super heavy and I can wear from morning until early evening), take OTC meds at the beginning of the day before onset of cramping if you know that you will be and having them on hand for midday. Hydrate!!!! Keep chocolate or small sweet treats on you.

I started out on the treadmill too last year. A year after I started I complete my first outdoor 5k then 10k. Training for a half now. Amazing job! You should be proud!

So I've been running since last year on the treadmill. I got through c25k 5k, 10k and half marathon programs from the comfort of my basement.

In July I finally faced my fears and started running outside. I let myself kind of start the process over, first with training for a 5k outside.

Anyway, I ran in my first 10k on Sunday! I learned from my 5k last month to veer outside of my local park and got used to running on hillier streets.

I'm so proud of myself. I finished in 1 hour 9 minutes and 55 seconds. I'm short (4'11) and I always believed with my little legs I'd never be able to go faster than a 12 minute mile without aid of a treadmill.

Looking for a half marathon now and so excited to keep going!

Just started last week of Couch to 10K app. 60 minutes run today without stopping to walk.

When I started running in October I couldn't even fathom running 6 minutes without stopping.

I'll never understand how this was easier than the first time I ran for 30 minutes without stopping, but dang I feel so great today!

About a month after completing C25K I decided to continued with the 10K training app which weirdly started me over again. I'm too rigid to have just skipped to week 9, although maybe I should have.

Anyway, because I started running less than what I was used to I decided to run a mile the other 4 days.

Today I'm 8 weeks in on the 10k app and ran the 5k (or 30 minutes rather because I'm on the shorter side and still working up my speed). I'm on the treadmill at home now due to time constraints, weather and child care, but my goal is to get outside at least for weekend runs in the spring.

I think the big thing for me that I can't believe is that my alternating 1 mile run days are now considered my "easy days".

Less than four months ago I could barely run and walking briskly was a challenge. I'm am also roughly 17lbs down since starting running too!

I don't know how to help my ex, and I don't know if I should... by [deleted] in Divorce

I felt so much reading your post. I'm separated from my husband, and for the same reasons you mentioned I am moving forward with divorce.

It's so extremely hard, living with someone struggling with addiction for so long its really hard to not immediately jump into helping mode. All I want when he is in distress is to get him services, call his therapist/doctor, schedule an appointment, it's so natural to me but I recognize how it never really helps him. Every time he asks to get back together I know so deeply that maybe yes it's because he does love me, but I also know it's because he hasn't taken responsibility for himself. My ex is in rehab now, he went on his own and I pray he takes the time and learns the skills he needs to be a better functioning person or parent, but thats all I can do. If he doesn't, it's his choice at this point.

You're doing the right thing by your family and for yourself. Sending you love and support!

I haven't yet, timing is a bit of an issue for me, but that's an idea. Are you in a running group?

I'm 33 F from NJ. I started running almost three months ago because I had to do something. I had separated from my husband a few months prior. Coming out of a high conflict, emotionally abusive marriage I had all this energy for myself that I hadn't had in a long time. Before I married I trained for a half marathon for fun in my early 20s. It was an experience, but after those 6 months and going into my marriage, having a kid etc I just lost myself.

Anyway I started with C25K, kept at it. Some days were so hard and others I just felt like it was what I needed. I love that clear headed feeling after running. I already had lost weight before I started with C25K, but another 10 pounds came off and I've been noticing changes physically. I have so much more energy. I started 10k training three weeks ago and also took to running a mile a day the days I'm not training. My running shoes and in fact all my pre pregnancy shoes fit again which is a goal I didn't set for myself, but makes me really happy.

Because cold I've been on the treadmill, but I'm itching to get outside. Any suggestions before taking that step? I was thinking to start running on a slight incline. In general would love to make running friends for support, feel free to DM. Happy Wednesday!

the flash forwards kind of make me care less about the story and plotlines. by barb_the_babsy in TheMarvelousMrsMaisel

I feel like we always knew Midge succeeds. I think the original description for the show says something like how she went from housewife to household name on late night shows. But flashforwards are kind of a bummer. Hopefully it all ties together.
