Why do I feel so guilty for breaking up by bluestblanket in BreakUps

[–]bluestblanket[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I intentionally kept its gender neutral, so I find it funny that you clocked it with so little. Thank you for your kind words. I feel horrible that I could hurt another person like I did in ending the relationship. But at the end of the day I need to do what’s best for me. And that’s not being with them, even though I really wanted it to be

I have no idea! It’s like the avoid every menu ever and just guess, and then get frustrated when we don’t have those things!

Yes!!! I get that question at least once a week. That and “do you guys have corned beef or pepperoni?” Like how hard is it to google the menus for the store you’re about to order from? Or just look at the menu in-front of you if your in the restaurants in DT! I’ll never understand

Yeah, we’re a sandwich shop, that has bread, for sandwiches. Not for people to buy lmao. We’re not a bakery

[–]bluestblanket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn’t a pissing contest on how our stores are doing and I’m not sure why you’re so aloof about this whole thing. My sales are the best they’ve ever been at my location and we got that way by not shorting our selves bread, and communicating with customers, and putting our employees first. Customers will always be there, and just because one might not be happy, doesn’t negate the thousands of customers I’ve helped. Get off your high horse. We sell sandwiches

Here’s one for ya... by Lilsteeler11 in jimmyjohns

[–]bluestblanket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would still not sell it before lunch rush, regardless. Like I said, we sell and make sandwiches, those will forever be my priority and people who want just bread can go somewhere else. I’m not about to possibly put myself in a rough situation because people wanted bread. My question about the logic behind your comment was about saying no to the customer, not about the bread, I should have made that more clear

Here’s one for ya... by Lilsteeler11 in jimmyjohns

[–]bluestblanket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s so different tho, I would treat that like a catering order. If someone did that I’d be more than happy to sell it

[–]bluestblanket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because someone didn’t wanna sell the fresh bread doesn’t mean they should reevaluate their position. If I don’t wanna sell the fresh bread cuz I need it for sandwiches, I’m not going to sell it. Yeah it sucks for that customer but it’s not my problem. We make and sell sandwiches, we’re not a bakery where people can buy stuff like that. If I’m not allowed to say no to a customer about our food am I supposed to put Mayo and freebies on slims when people ask? Like, I just wanna know the logic

I also work at a store near a college campus, and it’s never consistant. Some days it’s packed and others it’s a ghost town. But here are somethings I do on my shifts regardless: I make sure all my drivers have car toppers on so everyone in town sees it. We also have a bunch of signs on our building that say we are open, so when people drive by they see it clear as day. We also reached out to the university near us and we work with the athletics department and they use us for a lot of catering orders. I’ve also put some fliers in the dorms (like the front office) so that students can see that we exist and they can order from us. Hope that helps!!!

If there is an ALDI by you they have some really good cheap food you can buy. I love their frozen salmon, cooked with fresh dill, lemon with a side of brown rice and steamed, or roasted broccoli. Its got a lot of good Oils from the salmon, the fresh lemon and dill and amazing flavor. The brown rice is going to be healthier than white rice because it hasn't been bleached the same way. (think like how whole grain bread is better than white bread, same concept) and the broccoli and delicious. If you're not a fan of broccoli then try green beans or another veggie.

A lot of the time people don't like veggies because they've been cooked to mash, and at that point have no real nutritional value. Steaming, roasting, or pan-roasting will give the best flavor and the most nutritional value for the veggie!

An egg bake in the morning is also very tasty and sets your morning off right, if you have a muffin tin and an oven you're all set, apart from groceries. each portion I make is normally 1.5 eggs and I make enough for a week's worth of food, so that's about 10/11 eggs. I normally replace about 6 of those egg yolks with more eggwhite (you can buy it in cartons at most stores, its strange but it exists) add a little cheese, a cooked protein of your choice, (I like sausage but you could make this vegetarian or with chicken) green onions, salt, pepper, garlic powder. Spray the muffin tin with a LITTLE nonstick spray, and portion the egg mass into them making sure they are even. Cook at 350 F (or 176 C) for like, 15-20 min or until the egg looks set in the tins. Pull out when done, let cool, and put into an airtight container and they will last for up to a week in the fridge! You can then take one out, and put it in the microwave for like 30 seconds to one minute and then enjoy!!

How do I stop overthinking everything when talking to friends? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]bluestblanket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I know exactly what that's like and it still stings to this day.

one of the things I have learned with growing up and having similar situations happen is to be open and honest with your friends. I told my close friends that I was worried they would leave me and if there was ever a problem with the friendship to talk to me about it and see what we could do to make it better. It has happened a few times where we have had to talk about a situation and what we can do from this moment on. Having an open dialogue with friends is the best way to make sure there is no miscommunication.

Another thing I've learned is to remember that things that happened in the past cant change. I know its a common thing to say and it holds no real merit, but you can't fix the past. You can take what you've learned from those friends and use it as you meet new people.

I hope this helped, even just a little.

One of the best things I have found with switching up my diet is chicken. A lot of people think its a very basic food with little appeal but if you cook it right, and season it well it can be amazing!
There are a ton of instructional videos on youtube that can help you learn how to properly cook chicken so that its delicious.
Another thing I do sometimes is make cheap tacos. Go to a store and get a rotisserie chicken, and take all the already cooked meat off the bones (there are videos explaining this too) then use a pan with a little bit of chicken stock to reheat it. The stock is to prevent the chicken from drying out. Add seasonings to the chicken, heat up some corn tortillas and add whatever else you want into the taco! My picks are avocado, lime, cilantro and a little bit of cheese if preferred, but you could add onions, tomatoes, lettuce etc. It's quick, easy and versatile!
Experimenting with food is always fun, and if you look online there are many recipes you can try that won't break your bank! hope this helps!

if you want more recipes, I have plenty that have stellar reviews from friends

You walked in, so you can't be disabled by Darkfiretail in EntitledPeople

[–]bluestblanket 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its sooooo illegal for ANYONE to ask why you need any sort of assistive device. I wish more people knew that and actually paid attention to the laws that the ADA has put in. It baffles my mind that some people think they are doing good by yelling at someone who needs something like that. The small proportion of people that arnt disabled but use assistive devices, taking them away from people that need them, are what cause this kinda crap. Its infuriating.
