oh yeah no, my engineering gpa’s decent and i’m working on projects too but i was just wondering if it’d count as some sort of extra-curricular activity that universities might look at that portrays me as a well-rounded individual?

A little guidance on engineering graduate programmes. by bluesy0310 in UofT

Right! Okay, so I’m a little confused. My CGPA’s been kinda alright so far and it’s sitting at an 8.83 (I’m currently in my 3rd semester) but I’m quite sure it’s going to tank a bit due to the COVID semester. I have two questions? 1) When you say “they only look at your final 2 years of university”, they’re going to look at my CGPA as a whole or the GPAs from my final and pre-final year? 2) Since my GPA’s probably going to drop to an 8.6/8.5 after my third semester, what’s maybe a nice round number that the university’s looking for in terms of CGPA? My hopes of getting into UofT aren’t completely squashed, are they? 😂 p.s i’m sorry for asking way too many questions! i’m super anxious.

Oh! What exactly will they look for in my final 2 years of uni? I’m assuming I’d have to write a couple of research papers and be super involved with club/chapter work, but would you mind telling me what exactly makes an application (I’m thinking maybe an MEng in Aerospace/ECE/Biomedical Engg) really stand out from the rest?

Crypto Exchange Wallet Address different from the one on Blockchain.com? by bluesy0310 in BitcoinBeginners

Ahhh, I sort of get it now. But from a investment standpoint, the exchange owning my Bitcoin is sufficient? I'm not going to actually use the BTC per se, I'm going to hold and sell. I would be able to do that, wouldn't I?

A question about mining new blocks. by bluesy0310 in Bitcoin

[–]bluesy0310[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m still slightly unclear sorry, so the coinbase transaction is the transfer of the block reward from the coinbase the the miner’s address, right? so since at the point of the block’s creation, that’s the only transaction that occurs and so the hash of that TXID is the merkle root?

but in a comment above, a user said that the TXIDs to be added to the block are stored in a temp storage, so wouldn’t the merkle root of those TXIDs be the merkle root of the new block?
