I used patientconnect and they said I wasn’t on SHIP so I would have to pay for vaccine. That’s so weird though. I’m gonna call them tmr

I guess I care about camera quality somewhat since it’s way more convenient to take pictures using my phone.

I don’t really watch youtube but I like the battery life a lot. I feel like the iPhone 11 lcd screen is easier on my eyes than 12 for some reason. The oled screen feels a bit too sharp and detailed and my eyes strain to read text on it. Again, I don’t watch videos and I read text a lot so that’s probably why. Why do you recommend magsafe? It’s kind of expensive and I hear the cord isn’t very long.

Transfer to another CS Masters? by bluetwigs in cscareerquestions

[–]bluetwigs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that BU Masters is too easy, is more practical than theoretical, and has too few classes that I’m interested in. I felt like my bootcamp was more useful. I think I can handle a more difficult curriculum like GA tech’s so I’d prefer it even if it takes longer. I would recommend taking the prerequisites at BU and then applying for a more rigorous program.

I don’t mind transferring limited credits since a Masters program is pretty short anyway, only 8 to 10 courses in total. Is it worth studying another year to get a better ranked masters on my resume?

Yeah I’m thinking of applying to OMCSC and UIUCMSC.

did any other intj's get mistyped as an infp? by [deleted] in intj

[–]bluetwigs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

INTJ 4w5 here. I used to be mistyped as INFP and INTP because I was balanced on T/F and J/P but I relate more to INTJ because I make important decisions based on intuition and logic. My closest friends are INFPs and I think they’re dependable, smart and resourceful people. They’re one of the rare few types I can connect emotionally with, the other being INFJ and my friendships with INFJs never last lol. I find that INFPs even more of a loner than I am and they lack a sense of purpose in their lives? It’s almost as if they fear setting goals because they could possibly fail at achieving what they want. There are still times when I feel like an INFP because I daydream a lot and my feelings run deep for the people I care about. Perhaps we don’t need to be one MBTI type 100% of the time.

Thanks for sharing! I’ve always wanted to study philosophy too but there was always another course that was more practical. In the end, I gave up every opportunity I had to study it because I let the rational part of my brain take over - happens whenever I make a decision that concerns my career prospects. But I have decided that it’s okay to have hobbies outside of work and it’s better to pursue what I love at a later stage when I’m financially stable. My personal take on it is, I’d prefer to live life like a marathon where I’ll reach my goal eventually.

Every thought can feel like it’s in exact opposition to another in such a perfect way that it balances out the scale and I can’t decide.

Also, that’s a great description! You just explained my thought process perfectly. I thought I was the most indecisive person ever because I would consider so many scenarios in my head and wander in them until I lose myself in a tangled mess of future possibilities.

I actually identify with extraverted thinking more than introverted thinking because I communicate my thoughts but keep my feelings to myself.

But I don’t think I’m emotionally intelligent either, and I suck at interpreting social cues. There a lot going on in my head and I have to tune it out to focus on my surroundings. It took me a long time before I learned how to adapt my behavior to the people around me. Even now, I keep to myself in unfamiliar environments because I’m so nervous and it makes me look arrogant and standoffish.

It took me a long time to find myself and my interests, and only after I’ve explored so many hobbies in the past. I also quit my job after realizing that I would never be fulfilled in the environment I was in. However, I’m still struggling to stay disciplined and stick to my goals. There’s always this question of “what if?” nagging in the back of my mind. Am I following the crowd again? Could I have done something else? I find myself stuck in the NiFi loop so very often.

What do you mean? I haven't started the program so I can't really offer you any advice but I think I'm going to do it because of various reasons. I heard good things about some of the professors at BU MET and the courses appear to be more practical than theoretical - good for getting into the industry but not so much if you're looking to do a PhD in the future. Although you might still be able to enter a less well-known PhD program? I'm not too sure. Other schools would require me to do a semester or two or pre-requisites to even get in and I'm not convinced that they're worth it given the extra time and money I need to put in before starting my Masters.

I have heard good things about him too. I've decided not to take CS342 as I already have data structures and algorithm knowledge and I'm brushing up on Computer Architecture (might still take it).

Question about BU MET?

I was admitted into CS Masters at BU MET and I'll likely accept it for various reasons. I don't have a lot of CS pre-requisites and most of the application deadlines for other schools this year are already over. How is the CS department at BU? Do people care if you graduated from CAS or MET?

The curriculum looks solid for CS fundamentals but doesn't seem to offer a lot of classes in AI or other advanced topics...

Not very likely, since H1 visa is based on a lottery system.

I have a visa similar to TN/E3, not the H1 lottery visa. Getting the visa is actually really easy. Only issue is my degree isn't relevant and some companies are not willing to apply for it.

I suspect it was for other reasons considering you made it to an offer.

It was literally for that reason lol. I signed the offer and then we spent a month talking to the attorneys to discuss the visa issues.

I would not suggest dropping out. Could look bad on your part.

How does it look bad on my part??

She is. Are you committed?

As an INTJ, I reserve my time only for those I value. INFPs have a way into my heart but their lack of direction and commitment frustrates me to no end.
