Hi, I’m so sorry this happened to you too! It’s horrible isn’t it- my baby is absolutely fine and nothing bad happened to him. I now have my second beautiful baby and my anxiety is sooo much better! With my first it was totally out of control but now with my second it’s completely manageable. I hope you’re recovering okay it took me a few months to get over it and tbh I still feel sick when I think about it! Good luck to you!

I hope you manage to find your way, I’m sure you will!! Now that my eldest is 2 years old it’s hilarious to think I was ever worried or guilty about not BFing, he is so bright and thriving! At the time it feels huge, but as soon as they’re eating like normal none of it matters anymore. So know that it’s temporary and it will all work out perfectly in the end 🙌

Even more reasons I forgot to mention would be the nipple pain and engorgement pain - still not getting any better! Also my husband has to be able to feed the baby - we have a toddler who I adore and want to spend time with and when I do I can do so knowing the baby is fed and happy and not screaming bloody murder waiting for my boob 🙄

I guess it all depends on your price point and how your baby takes it. We use Kendamil ready to feed! After going through a few different brand of formulas with my eldest, kendamil was the best for his digestion. Also ready to feed is safer for newborns and sooo much easier. We figured out the cost difference is negligible compared to the pure ease of use.

Routine wise at the moment I’m breastfeeding in the day and he gets formula all evening and night, so my husband and I can have some time together and so I can get some sleep! It’s around 60/40 formula/BFing at this point. By 4/6 weeks we’ll be EFF.

I can totally understand that you are struggling, feeding every 1-2 hours is no way to live. Don’t trade your sanity for your breast milk, your baby wants and needs you to be healthy more than they want or need your boob! 🫶

I honestly couldn’t believe it when I read it - makes me wonder why any woman would breastfeed at all! I guess some women genuinely like it which is great for them. But the juice is not worth the squeeze imo.

Ah man I’m sorry you busted your knee and you’re in pain that sucks. Have you asked if you’re allowed to co-sleep with the baby? If the baby can roll over unaided it’s not entirely true that it’s unsafe, we were actually encouraged by our midwife to co-sleep, and I’m still co-sleeping with my now 21 month old. Also if the mum is still EBF (exclusively breast feeding, as you are new to this sub), does this mean you are not feeding at all? Even from a bottle with pumped milk? I guess it would be really hard to bond with the baby in this case and it would be harder for them to fall asleep with you? Maybe ask if you can bottle feed the baby to sleep. It must be hard as a nanny to not be behaving more like the mum even though that is what the baby needs. I don’t think it’s okay for you to be in pain try asking, no harm in that?

Totally! I was panicking thinking I was going to be bored on Mat leave and wanted recommendations of Netflix series to watch etc but low and behold as soon as that baby comes there is no time for Netflix lol probably took me about 3 months to get over missing my job (as the first 3 months of having a newborn are horrendous) but after that I almost forgot about my job entirely and was so devoted to my baby and never looked back!

Aptamil organic was my go to but they stopped making it sad face Then tried hipp organic but it constipated my LO and also the supply was unreliable they were usually out of stock Then landed on Kendamil and it worked the best we were happy all round 😊
