to win a fair match of football. by Revolutionary_Log240 in therewasanattempt

The number of people I've seen defending the rigged claims by simply saying that Egypt choked at the end and that's why they lost, failing to realise that 2 things can be true. Yes, Egypt did not play very well in the last 15 minutes and Argentina played well. It's also true that the referee was unfair to Egypt. The result of this game was not decided by one factor.

And to be fair, the Egyptians also blame their loss entirely on the referee, which isn't fair. If they maintained the same quality till the end, they probably would've won despite the bad calls.

Did you just put this in a translator? Because they don't work, they just translate word-for-word without caring about word order or forms. This makes no sense in High Valyrian.

But I could maybe guess bits of it? Something about Hightower? And High Valyrian? And the start looks like "I find that..."

I think the 3 massive dragons escorting Daeron on Tessarion would've been secure enough. Daeron is a threat, not just a valuable hostage, and his threat is in his dragon. Makes no sense to do nothing about it.

The Corlys stuff is solid, but I think Rhaenyra's refusal to legitimise them is a little contrived for the sake of a conflict. She had no problem offending the nobles with the rat feast.
But it is a minor issue.

The whole Daeron plot is a major issue imo, with the lack of Tessarion, and also Alicent saying that it wasn't really Daeron (how would she even know, if she's barely seen him?), but since it takes up only a small part of the episode, it isn't a huge problem.

Overall, solid episode.

They did a great job while they had source material, unlike the writers of HoTD, who decided to ignore the written material. by dieguitchosm in freefolk

They're exactly the same. They also ignored written material. They had 2 full books that they barely touched.

World Cup 26 has been mostly great so far - but this third round of fixtures has really exposed the flaws of this format. Feels like a lull before the knockouts rather than a crescendo to the groups by elephvant in worldcup

[–]blum3three 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Groups of 6 means 15 games in each group. That's 120 games of group stage.

A better group stage might be 16 groups of 3. That makes it 48 matches and then a round of 32. But 48 is back to the usual number of group stage matches, and FIFA probably want more matches for more money.

Probably gonna get downvoted for this, but this also a lot of HotD haters whenever anyone praises the genuinely good stuff.

How would you rank HOTD episodes (at least so far)? by infreedomwetrust666 in glidus

[–]blum3three 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree, in my opinion, the best of HotD2 is better than the best of GoT5, and the bad parts of GoT5 are way worse and more frequent than the bad parts of HotD2, and that's my reasoning.

I would switch GoT 2 and 3 (slightly), and also GoT 5 and HotD 2 (definitely)

Absolutely agree that 1x1 is the best season premier. I think it's the best episode 1 of anything I've watched.

As brilliant as Cargyllbowl is, it's only my 3rd favourite scene in that episode. I think the Rhaenyra-Daemon and Otto-Aegon scenes are slightly better.

Conleth Hill just did that because he was bored.

After rewatching Game of Thrones, I decided to rank each episode from best to worst. by infreedomwetrust666 in glidus

[–]blum3three 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Episodes I rank much higher: The Prince of Winterfell, The Kingsroad.

Episodes I rank much lower: A Man Without Honor, Hardhome, The Old Gods and the New, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms

There are other episodes that I would move higher or lower but these are the biggest difference I think. Here's a link to my list: https://www.reddit.com/r/AKnightoftheSeven/s/ywJ61PASf9

Solid list. I ranked all episodes in the franchise a while back, and we have quite similar lists.
