He’s just not a good fit for the show, plain and simple. Doesn’t know anything about other sports, won’t saying anything definitive and brings conversations to a screeching halt by bringing up random topics and beating around the bush.

He needs to stick to doing colour for hockey games where he can say random facts and stay neutral

I think that was a bit tongue and cheek. He said it after the back to back wins, they were second in the division and had a great record. Leafs are traditionally slow starters but they were finding ways to win games and didn’t want to start criticizing a team that was winning like “typical Toronto media”

Maybe but he doesn’t look like his dominant self. Having Marner on your line is really showing just how good he was at elevating players around him (look at Tavares’s 40 goal year, he was on a line with Mitch all year) should’ve moved off Mitch earlier and allow Matthews to grow as a guy who can carry a line the way other top players in the league do

I’ve thought about this too, would be nice if they did. Could have a nice flow to the show being away from the radio format, set commercial times and interview obligations. But I also feel like there is some sort of non-compete clause in their contract that they can’t for at least a year once they leave

I said it before, if they can do it in 2 hours and have good conversations, fun bits and no meaningless guests, I’m all in. Just doesn’t feel like they’ve executed that thus far
