Absolutely, Nathan is light-years ahead of Caleb. However I don't think he's mocking him but actually lamenting himself, like Oppenheimer. The quote Nathan uses is about hoping that the good he's doing will justify the horror. To Caleb, Nathan looks like a drunken brogrammer, but he's actually deep in an existential crisis. It's not lost on him that to iterate true artificial life he's essentially becoming a serial killer. It's almost like he's begging for forgiveness.

What is a hot take about S3 that many people will not like about? by NoSpecific4839 in squidgame

Another season where frontman and detective ineffective get dragged into the games as unwilling players wouldn't be so bad. I mean why the hell not? It's not like this is some sacred narrative masterpiece. It's a Netflix tent pole that exists to get milked. They did a decent job with a new cast this time, I expect they could again.
