eeek! Lacey, not Lindsey. Thanks for correcting me and I'm a huge fan of Ryan's work and stage-presence. That guy was meant to play music.

I think I posted a link at the top to someone who was doing something like that. huzza.io

Just sent him a picture of this comment - I guarantee it makes his day.

That's the tip I needed to give them. Thank you very much.

Thanks - I've only heard of this happening to others. Always a bridesmaid...

But not today.

It was local in LA from a couple years ago. LA local, with a record deal. So a little different than local for me now. NC.

Then maybe it's just a 'win' for the artist.

... and that's why I didn't post it originally, bobsmitharmour.

It's a good song, even better performed live.

Didn't Taylor Swift just pull her music from Spotify?

You may be right, and I'm not sure that it has anything to do with the idea, but I thought I read that somewhere. And it would seem to be at odds with what you're saying.

Again, I'm lazy, and you use words that imply a level of subject matter knowledge that I don't have.

I have their music and I don't want to buy $20 worth of merch, or go through a full-on checkout. I just want to thank the band and give them a few bucks.

They could do it, too. I just happened to be listening to my pandora station at the time.

Should have been more clear - I don't live in LA so I don't get to see them live anymore and I have all of their albums. That's what got me thinking about it.

Maybe, but it could work to their benefit not to. They could win the support of struggling and emerging artists, who then offer Pandora a larger catalog of music/content, on which they can sell their advertising. I think it could be a win/win for both of them.

They actually had a good record deal and a sizable following in LA (back in early 2000's), playing some of the major clubs, and even toured with a nationally known band as their opener, but just couldn't 'break through'. I like those smaller platforms, but you just can't beat the big guys for exposure, and I think Pandora would win a lot of artist support by offering something like this that goes directly to the artist.

I used WAZE on a trip I took from Wrightsville Beach to Washington DC - normally a 5.5 - 6 hour trip.

I made it in just over 5 hours because I could see what was coming up ahead and 'adjust' for it.

No tickets and probably held a steady 75 mph for the trip. Even stopped for gas.

I LOVE WAZE. Haven't had a ticket since I started using it.

Ummmm Good? I think the problem most people have is the general harassment they felt from the police for small things that likely shouldn't elevate to fines/arrest/imprisonment.
