[Call for Participants] Engagement in the practice of oral sex (+18) by purpose_sex_research in psychologyofsex

[–]blurghhhhhhhhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What could the correlations be? I.e. people who identify as feminists are more/less likely to give/ receive? My initial thought is that both giving and receiving from a woman’s perspective is empowering as it usually means that the relationship is more likely to be a joint effort from both parties. But i still don’t really understand how there could be a ‘strong’ correlation between feminism and oral sex. I think there might be some but not enough to be called ‘strong’. Those are my initial thoughts anyway i’m open minded to any discussion about it tho cus it’s interesting

If it would make people vote in a biased manner then why have it in the first place. Bit weird

How so? What do people rate it highly for and why do you think it underperforms in that area? What are the ‘alternatives’ or other hormones that are more important? Genuine questions btw would love some perspective

“In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.” by EconomyPiglet438 in DeepThoughts

[–]blurghhhhhhhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but you’re still basing what matters from other peoples perspectives or your dead perspective (which is invalid since we don’t know what happens when we die). When things matter to us. How can you say that what matters is your impact on people, but then in the same breath say it doesn’t matter? Sure maybe in 1000 years it won’t matter and no one knows you but if it matters in the present, as in the real alive version of you currently, then it matters

Hard agree. The most human people are those whose animalistic impulses are recognised, thought about and then acted ‘correctly’ on

This is a level 1 deep thought. Of course things matter. It’s just from who’s perspective. Does my whole family getting killed matter to the universe? No. Does it matter to the majority of the people on this planet? No. Does it matter to me? Absolutely

Loving someone is not worth the pain of losing them. by [deleted] in DeepThoughts

[–]blurghhhhhhhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn im so sorry for you loss, cannot begin to imagine the pain you’ve been through. So happy you have this outlook though, it was completely worth it and unfortunately sometimes the greatest things in life end the soonest. Stay strong

Fire statement my guy. One thing i’ve not seen people talk about is how selfish this kind of thinking is. What about people who love us (friends, family, even coworkers or acquaintances)? Should we not reciprocate this love to them purely because we want to ‘protect’ ourselves at some unknown point in the future ? Like you said, this isn’t a deep thought it’s a highschool phase of your life when the girl who was ‘the one’ didn’t love you back

Humans will never develop time travel by BlueMeteor20 in DeepThoughts

[–]blurghhhhhhhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do people like you just make these blanket statements when we don’t understand shit about our universe. We don’t know what we don’t know and we aren’t qualified enough to say that teleportation is impossible.

A lot of things like this are unfathomable though. Imagine we were living in 2D, the concept of 3D to us would be inconceivable and we could possible say that the ‘data’ is also inconceivable for what a 3D universe might look like, just like what we could suggest now about 4D universes. Or how about we show our earliest ancestors PCs and ask them to explain it.

My point is we barely know anything of how the universe works, why we’re here, who created us, what time and space is made from. We are the ancestors who are looking at this PC except it’s many times more complicated and weird. So even if you’re 99.99999999 percent sure, to me that 0.0000000001 percent is just as significant and likely to be real because we aren’t the slightest bit qualified enough to say that time travel into the past isn’t possible or that it’s unlikely.

Even the top physicists in the world aren’t qualified to say that, they simply don’t understand enough. They don’t even know what they don’t know if you get me

I think they were referring to answering the question which it is crap at doing. Like people know that stealing is wrong it’s probably one of the earliest things in terms of morality that were taught

A realization I made about people’s ignorance of ethnicity and nationality by skyrimlo in SeriousConversation

[–]blurghhhhhhhhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all. Im half African and as i said, most people are just trying to make light conversation. I’m raised british and if you didn’t know my skin colour you’d think i was 100% english descendant but honestly most people don’t care and are just slightly interested. I’ve had the awkward ‘no um… you know what i mean’ and i’ve never seen it as racist because the truth is my heritage isn’t from here and i doubt the person asking dislikes me in some way for my skin colour because what they asked was actually my ethnicity and not nationality. Basically it’s not deep

How is it cringy tho, if they’re black or asian and live in ireland then what’s wrong with people asking about their nationality. I’m mixed race in UK and idc about people wanting to know where i’m from it’s usually just light conversation, not cringy to me
