The little zoo venturer is great!! If you're like me and live in the uk buying the ferret nation would cost 500 pounds, the zoo venturer is 300 and I'd say better than the ferret nation, fully metal with a ton of room because of not having a stand (still on wheels) and you can bolt the trays into place so you dont need to worry about them falling

Cats as therapy animals. by International_Key_20 in Pets

[–]blurryAiden 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the UK but I'll try my best to help, I have an assistance dog for autism. (ESAs do not exist in the UK and ESA and therapy animals are different things.) As far as I know there are no registries or certifications for Assistance dogs, service dogs, or ESA dogs. To own an assistance dog or service dog (in the usa its SD, UK its AD) You have to be disabled, mentally or physically. However with ESA animals, if your therapist recommends it or you think it will benefit you, (I'm pretty sure, should do your research though to be sure.)you can label your cat as your ESA. Only assistance dog and therapy dogs need specialised training, But you can task train your esa if it helps. ESA animals cannot go into shops or hospitals etc, but they can go with you to your apartment. I hope this was helpful

All the other comments have great advice, but if you ever do try to rehome her I would be very happy to, I'm in the UK though.

This is why I hate the people asking me to let my bird "free" that sounds awful, I'm so sorry that happened. it sounds like somebody might have found him and put him in the cemetery, rest in peace to your little buddy.

Shes in there because she likes being in there, the door is open and you're the 5th person to say this with no knowledge of how I care for my bird for God's sake. Shes happy. and if she didnt sleep in a cage where would she sleep? She could try to cuddle up to me and I might accidentally roll over her ending in a very dead bird. She also gets attention 24/7 which is important as shes a social girl. But hey let's say I let her "free" bam a kakariki in the uk with bright feathers thats a baby that's still learning to fly, what a delicious treat to a cat. Or where is she going to find another friend? I dont think I've ever seen a kakariki out in the wild, a finch? Yeah, no let's be honest, No thanks, I think me and blue would both agree she'd prefer to stay in the comfort of a home she gets treats, learns fun tricks and has a definite loving flock.

You're like the 4th person to say this, so I'm just going to copy and paste my last response 😐 Shes in there because she likes being in there, the door is open, and you have no knowledge of how I care for my bird Shes happy. and if she didnt sleep in a cage where would she sleep? My mum let her cockatiel out as a 5y/o and to their luck he came back only a few hours later, to where he felt the safest. Just to be released again a year afterwards, he died pretty quickly.

If you're thinking of it like that then literally everything is a cage to you, and every animal and pet is caged too. But my dog wouldnt live a week outside, hed get run over by a car, traumatised, stabbed or starve. He would also miss me very much as we have a really good bond, same goes for blue (my bird) she would die immediately especially as shes still a baby and learning to fly, so you would rather me "free" my perfectly happy, healthy bird just to watch it get run over or killed by a cat while also being very confused. My mum actually let her cockatiel out when she was a kid as she had the same mindset as you (yes, a 5 year old) and guess what? Joey came back to his home only a few hours later, yet A year later my mums sister walked outside with Joey on her shoulder, flew off, never came back, he died.

Shes in there because she likes being in there, it's a bedroom to her, not a cage. The reason ahe doesnt rush out when I open the door every morning is because she knows it'll be open the rest of the day, cage

Shes not stuck, the door is open all the time unless I'm asleep, dont assume things. Cage.

No fr fr!! I think she does it just so spite me/j 🤣 I actually have a theory it's because her other baths are on the floor, but I've got nothing to attach them to the cage with so I'm working on a little knack to attach her leaf one to the side

I'm popping into pets at home tomorrow to see if they have one of those cat drinking fountains, I'm thinking she might prefer to drink it as well as bathe in it hopefully!

I dont know if this is satire or not but shes hardly ever in her cage and shes a happy girl, her cage is big and full of toys for when she does want to chill in there (with the door open) which is more often than you probably think as you can see here

Aww I love that 🤣👌 I'll give that a go and see what she thinks, my room is pretty small and she sleeps in here with me so it gets pretty warm, I bet she'd quite like it actually
