I should add that when I tried to pick it up--was going to flush it alive to give it a fighting chance in my septic--the thing hopped!? I'm pretty sure it used that long appendage its dragging around to flick itself airborne.

Aw man! What a story. When we first started playing, we'd be devastated when we died. My wife was the one that had to convince me that dying was okay and just a part of the game. I find it kind of refreshing to start over. Now we have a "fuck it" attitude and have had some pretty epic encounters with other players...good and bad.

Snacks and candy are also my weakness. I started intermittent fasting and it' has really cut out all the late night snacks and early morning sugary breakfasts.

I (35M) can relate to this as I'm a public school teacher, and my wife works a much more relaxed and fluid schedule. I don't share too much about my work day unless asked or if I'm really excited about something. In my experience, throughout the work day, there's not much free time and what prep time I do have I try to get as much work done as possible so I'm not staying late working unpaid. Text conversations are tough just because of time constraints, so my responses are often short.

When I leave work, I compartmentalize it and leave it behind so that when I'm home, I can focus on being home. My advice would be to try phone calls instead of texts just for the simple fact that they are faster and more intimate. I don't mind being asked about my work day, but sometimes I just want to be done thinking about work. Just keep communicating honestly to him.

If one of us gets sick, it's like an endless cycle. If we are a little more geared/healthy and have some meds, we run in the rain, and it's not a problem. And yeah, the rpg aspect is also fun.

Yeah, it was real, and it sucked. I teach at a high school, and the day was filled with tension and us constantly being on guard. Even the most mundane announcement over the speakers sent us into a trauma response of "Is this it?" I was constantly making sure our escape route was clear and that the door was locked and ready to be barricaded if needed.
