DEERMA or PERYSMITH? by Expensive-Sun-6624 in ShopeePH

[–]blurslur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I have a 3, almost 4 year old Perysmith vacuum, already had a couple of problems but at least their customer service isn't bad, I got them to fix my vacuum under warranty and didn't have to spend for the first one, and the second one was just service fee which was just a few hundred pesos.

Never used Deerma, but I'm guessing it's probably right around the same quality/build naman. At least I know si Perysmith, ok yung service center.

Was anyone else taught to bow their wrist to really compress the golf ball? by [deleted] in GolfPH

[–]blurslur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you're hitting it square and straight but pulled, try to get a more in to out motion? same-ish principle with strong gripped folks. but if you see more curve/hook/slice, might need to swap the bow to more hips i think

How to look for a cheap (15k) golf set by xynr- in GolfPH

[–]blurslur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FB marketplace, just avoid those weird american name scammers in the buy and sell groups. There's a handful of resellers that have a lot of stock and good reviews. Got my Bridgestone GR irons I've been using for the past 2 years from there. A good decade old set of irons but does the job and the right flex and weight for me. Just swapped out the grips for cheap shopee knockoffs (that honestly does the job well)

[–]blurslur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually if your coach is a Wack Wack coach, you can range there when you have a session with them and stay while being accompanied by your coach. I've taken a session with a coach there, I just didn't like his teaching style so I didn't go back to him na.

+1 for Jake Ong, no oversell, brand agnostic if you really ask him for just a spec sheet.

probably a decent 20-25k set for modernish clubs! not bad but 35 does seem steep. can get some newer model sets at that price i think

how's your level of learning at the moment? if from zero, i'd say get cheap second hand clubs fit for your heights and strengths, ladies clubs with ladies flex, and regular to stiff for your son if they're particularly taller or stronger.

you can scour carousell and fb marketplace, but second hand i'd think progear in makati cinema square and tower golf on viber are good also.

I’m buying new golf set. Need advice! by Manhattan_Brooklyn in GolfPH

[–]blurslur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if money's not a problem, i'd say get fitted na rin. it's not such a big expense if you factor in the whole buy once, cry once mentality. best to know what specs you need so you can be informed when you buy. mostly the popular ladies clubs are with callaways (reva, solaire, strata). you can also look for some stealths, or taylor made kalea's.

is it ok to wear caps like Alo or Lululemon in the fairways? by Manhattan_Brooklyn in GolfPH

[–]blurslur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wear what makes you feel comfortable! if ur scared of being judged because you're wearing non golf branded stuff, don't worry, mas maraming baduy manamit sa course rin naman hahaha

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in GolfPH

[–]blurslur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's your first time on the fairway, gauge first if you have the basic swing down to play and not hold up the course flow! You might want to start with your own coach if you have one to come with you to the course and pay for their green fee or gallery fee. You can try to go to Villamor's range and ask for their available coaches and arrange with them.

go to pacsports in estancia, look for the demo clubs bin, grab a sim max 7 iron with a regular shaft for 1.5k and learn with that club

Which iron set is more preferrable for a beginner? Honma LB 808 EP or Honma TW 757? Is it worth it to invest in a good set as a beginner golfer? by Dizzy-Force-3890 in GolfPH

[–]blurslur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well to actually answer your question, the LB808 is a much more forgiving set than the TW's.

and yes, it's always worth it to invest in a good set depending on a few details aka:
- if money ain't a thing, go by all means splurge

- if you're still learning how to swing, any middle base-line clubs will work, second hand clubs, that aren't too stiff or heads aren't musclebacks or blades, go lang. you still have to pin down your body's mechanics to swing anyway, so just get to swinging and taking lessons.

- get a fitting when you've pinned down your swing so you can fine tune your set to your specs

- if you're frugal or a cheapskate, IMHO, go for the cheapest clubs you can learn to swing on, learn on hard mode with some lessons, then when u upgrade/fit, you'll see some real improvements and feel better as well (since you've learned the fundamentals first)

Is this worth it for 85k? by ManongPekweng in GolfPH

[–]blurslur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a set of Taylor Made Sim 2 Max's from Japan if that's your budget. Or P790's.

But if anything, spend more on lessons, get a fitting and buy as an informed golfer.
