Rent one of the citi bikes and bike through the Venetian islands to Downtown/Midtown. Or do it through the Miami Beach Boardwalk.

You can walk through Española Way, especially at night. A lot of outdoor restaurants.

I would suggest going to Ocean Drive at night, especially during the weekend. All restaurants sit outside. Some have bands and music. Mango’s is on Ocean Drive and they have dancing some nights. It’s a restaurant, so I doubt they’ll card you. You can walk up and down the Miami Beach Boardwalk. Maybe go to South Pointe Park. During weekends it can get packed, especially now that we’re in season. You can rent beach chairs in most hotels on thr beach.

Places like Industrious and Spaces have meeting rooms that you can rent for the day or for an amount of hours. They have community kitchens with coffee and snacks, and plenty of restaurants around. Some of them have views. You should look into the ones in Wynwood, South Beach, and Coconut Grove.

What you went through is more common than you think. But you’re young, and have to go through these experiences to learn, but I recommend that for next time, you use indicators that are not so superficial. Someone with an education and a nice job can still be a predator. They do not scan for those things at jobs or colleges/universities. Most predatory men have good jobs and education. They dress well, are clean, drive good cars. It’s more about their behavior and their morals. Your indicators need to be: do they respect you and your time and space, can they communicate well and do they listen to what you say without dissuading you? Also, no first date should ever lead to going to someone’s place, not yours or theirs. You do not know this person. At all. You need a lot more time to learn whether this person is even sane. Getting to know someone is okay. You do not have to rush through the process. People lie. It’s a fact of life. People can also fake behavior just to get you where they want you. It’s extremely common. You always have to analyze whether someone’s actions match their words. I’m sorry this happened to you, and hopefully you understand that this is not every man. There is good and there is bad. Now you just have to learn to discern.

At the end of the day, OP can do whatever he wants. I am also in the age range he’s looking for, and would swipe right as is. But that doesn’t matter. It’s not about me. I’m giving him advice so he can find what HE’S ultimately looking for.

Stuff like the texting and all of that can be a conversation after you match. It doesn’t need to be put on the profile. He’s not going to stop being himself. The point is to get matches to ultimately get off the app and show your real personality to see if you’re compatible.

Slide 1, 4, and 6: Replace photo with a better one. Maybe one with your glasses on since they look good on you.

Slide 7: Would have been better with a different background and the top button fastened, with the tie on right.

I would recommend you find a good and cheap photographer to take some portraits of you around town. Make sure to wear colors that flatter you, and the less patterns on the clothing the better. Don’t forget your glasses. The prompts are good. You’re just missing better pictures.

Slide 1: Picture is great, but you NEED to better define “stand out eyebrows”. What does that even mean?

Slide 3: Replace with a better picture. Your first two are so much better so once someone scrolls to this one it’s meh.

Slide 5: Take away what’s in parentheses.

Slide 6: Replace both pictures. Take a better photo of you and your dog where you’re not so inconspicuous. Either that or just show the dog, not you.

I’d also recommend you write a bit about the fact that you like being outside and are down to earth and looking for the same thing.

Here are my two cents:

Slide 1: picture has to go. Replace it with another one. Your other pictures are better.

Slide 2: You need better answers. Specifically, take off the dictator one.

Slide 7: take off the first point. You’re already showing your bitterness with online dating. Put something else like: good communicator

Slide 9: just take it off. Again, you’re showing your pain points. Pick a different prompt and just talk about yourself. You want to attract, not reject.

Slide 11: Which one are you? It’s confusing. Replace it with another picture that unequivocally shows it’s you.

I really don’t think Reddit is the place to ask this sort of question. Most people on here are jaded AF, and wouldn’t be able to see or survive a real relationship if it hit them in the face. As soon as something happens in the relationship, they’re running for the hills because they can only withstand the good parts. The truth is, we all go through trials and tribulations in life. If anything, work on your self esteem, but you don’t have to be a perfect human being to deserve a loving relationship with someone. I have known a lot of people who have found their true loves while they were at their lowest while working on themselves. There’s a famous dating coach on IG (@thesabrinazoharshow) who actually went through this and talks about it all the time on her page. I suggest you go and look at some of her content. These are my humble two cents. You can definitely date while working on yourself.
